Here us a slight guide to the way I glossed mine ok here's what I used

A gravity fed spray gun
yvavu2y8.jpg

Then I used some accelerator and clear coat which I use when I spray cars also added is a slight but if thinners I think it's 2 to 1
apy7e8ar.jpg

The steels are wiped over with cleaners I get rid of grime and oil that fingers can lea e and any oils
desuse2y.jpg

Then I spray it in a booth which is heated and has ventilation AND IS HEATED KNOWN AS AN OVEN
Basically it what I use to spray car bits
apuhypa3.jpg

Then spray and leave them to harden at least a day and this will be hard enough to polish to

OH I FORGOTTO ADD A PICTURE OF THE HARDENER AND THE FACT I GET ALL KITTED UP LIKE WALTER WHITE FROM BREAKING BAD ....

WELL A BREATHING MASK AND OVERALLS AS THIS STUFF ISNT GOOD FOR BREATHING IN A CONFINED SPACE

Edited for trading

Yeah I read some of those but I'm not getting any gasoline or any other elements near them;) remember this is a clear coat for automotives and suppose to protect to harsh conditions that the steels won't be subject to.

I saw another Clear coat that a review mentioned but it's costly and once activated, it lasts for 48 hours and then it sets:(

I ordered this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009X8LZ4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Iron Man 3, X Men 2 and 300 came out pretty cool but ANOES not that great. It did add a nice effect to the Claws but nothing major. Love the Blues on IM3 and the Reds on 300 :scat: X2 is just wicked looking :D

Stunning...your best ones yet... EEK!

Has your technique changed at all since your first attempt? 3 coats, third being thickest, with hair dryer in between? I'm about to start practicing on mine but I want to do it like yours!

Nothings change :D just make sure you don't leave the Dryer in one spot, Move it around all the time. Good luck, can't wait to see the results:)

Thanks! Is a dryer necessary? I'm not sure I have one.

I use it to speed up the process in between coats and on the Final coat. The spray can that I use says it dries in 10 minutes but I help it along :D Hair dryer would be best instead of a heat gun. Also before you start spraying, shoot the spray first and then on the steel. Sometimes it'll squirt dots on the first spray so just shoot it before and then on the steel.

Awesome job again compadre.

My work so far. Majority of them are single coating and of course won't look as smooth and shiny as yours though it looks a lot better in hand and could come off well with a better camera.

I am going to try a different product that is supposed to produce the same smooth and higher quality coating like yours.:ohno:

Great Job Compadre!!! You've been very busy:D Not bad for 1 coat application:) Those colors have a nice Pop to them. Might have to try it out on Avatar and Wreck it Ralph.

Ocielz, you have inspired me to go home and spray the $#!+ out of my 300! What a difference!!! I might also have to hit trade threads for a nightmare on elm street. Oh, and Tony will definitely be getting his fair share of a can of gloss :)

Just tried for the first time on Goodfellas. Orange peel ALL over it, with some finger smudges :( Sand paper?

Looking good guys the effect your seeing is it like an orange peel effect . I got that on iron man and hunger games .
It's easily sorted if you get some 1500 grade sand paper and use a new sponge and water and rub the orange peel area then some cutting compound or polish and then it'll come right out
Like I said the iron man 3 was like that then it's flat now

Well try a small bit first as that's how you sort out that effect with the stuff I use

I don't fully understand. Where does the sponge and water come in? Cutting compound or polish?

You might have to PM howiesteed for more info regarding orange peel effect.

I'm thinking once the gloss is dry then you sand it down little by little, but only the areas effected. I know sometimes using wet sanding paper is better than dry, it won't mess it up as bad.

How did you clean the steel before application?

Rubbing alcohol and microfiber cloth. I'll try sanding it tomorrow.

I give mine 2 passes with alcohol just to be on the safe side. Don't be scared to put a little muscle into it when you're cleaning the steel.

Okay I'll keep that in mind for the next steel. Also, the edges didn't get any coat on them - did you guys close the steel to get those areas? Because mine was open and flat.

Use the high grade sand paper and use a new sponge as a rubbing block and the water is to help it basically soo your just taking off the peaks
This will dull the lacquer and the cutting compound rubbed in brings back the shine and I use any car polish
