Here us a slight guide to the way I glossed mine ok here's what I used

A gravity fed spray gun
yvavu2y8.jpg

Then I used some accelerator and clear coat which I use when I spray cars also added is a slight but if thinners I think it's 2 to 1

The steels are wiped over with cleaners I get rid of grime and oil that fingers can lea e and any oils
desuse2y.jpg

Then I spray it in a booth which is heated and has ventilation AND IS HEATED KNOWN AS AN OVEN
Basically it what I use to spray car bits
apuhypa3.jpg

Then spray and leave them to harden at least a day and this will be hard enough to polish to

OH I FORGOTTO ADD A PICTURE OF THE HARDENER AND THE FACT I GET ALL KITTED UP LIKE WALTER WHITE FROM BREAKING BAD ....

WELL A BREATHING MASK AND OVERALLS AS THIS STUFF ISNT GOOD FOR BREATHING IN A CONFINED SPACE

and bcdavis9958 nice tutorial when i spot glossed mine i used masking tape as i thought that a stronger adhesive tape would fetch paint off but nice effort much easier than trying to get masking tape around akira

General question for everyone. Has anyone tried to "fix" or gloss over scratched or scuffed steels?
Im mainly looking to do something with my POS Blufans WIR steel before I throw it out the window :hilarious:

Theoretically if it's not damaged the paint work the lacquer will cover it and not make it as obvious if it's paint chips it's a case of painting and then spraying I've got one at the minute which I actually need to touch up some black as there as chip . And again theoretically pant over it then spray the spray should even out the paint and make it look like it wasn't there .
Please note the use of theoretically a couple of times lol

Thanks for the tips!

I certainly may give this a try. With the replacement one it does not appear to have any deep enough to the paint. I will wait a few weeks until the temperatures can stable I can do in a garage or something.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Matte :naughty: UK - Custom Glossed

Wasted opportunity as the artwork suits LOTR and not Hobbit. The people who approve these designs should be suspended or fired.

Thanks to Howiesteel. Taken ages to upload, due to illness, work schedule and the like.
Colours and contrast definitely take a major boost with glossing. Thanks Mark.

Ok guys, I decided to try something new and so far it looks like it turned out pretty cool. Will post pics when it's dry. Stay tuned for The Shawshank Redemption (US) with "raindrop" finish!

Here's a before picture:
