So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

No worries - hope you get as much as you can for it and it makes your own copy free. Thats what I will be doing when I get my replacement :D

27.99 was a bit high but glad I bought it now

its now 31 pounds which is already high considering more than 8 days left LOL but then again, maybe i am rushing to sell it hahah

i really dont get why people would risk so much score feedback for 10 20 50 or even 100 pounds...really...

p.s if this was a bedsheet forum we know who would have been the owner :)

This will be an interesting auction to watch to see what people are prepared to pay for it. £30 with nearly 9 days to run though...

Returning an item for a small shrinkwrap tear. Is this guy having a giraffe? I know members of this forum are pretty OCD, but that really is ridiculous. I wouldn't blame Entertainment Store for never wanting to release another Steelbook ever again.

Yeah, some people are just buying it for the shrinkwrap...:hilarious:

They should just eff off;)

i didnt ask for a replacement BTW...they told me to....comments sometimes are really out of this world...

So an Entertainment Store employee read your mind and sent you an email asking you to return it? :hilarious:

my initial email was to ask about the line on the right hand side, then i mentioned the rip and he gave the option to either return and refund or replace.

never the less, if you were entertainment store dont give me a replacement...but your not...

When you're selling on ebay, it's the market that dictates whether you should care about a shrink wrap tear or not, and anyone who sells rare or high value items will tell you that shrink wrap tears can - and do - devalue rare steelbooks. Sometimes by more than $100 on higher end rarities.

Whether that's crazy or not is beside the point really, it's cold economics. If you have a rare steelbook that's going to be passed from collector to collector without being opened, it's almost certainly going to fetch less at auction if it has tears or holes to the shrink wrap.

In my view, nickforall1987 deserves credit for his honesty in mentioning the 'flaw'. It's not honest sellers who are the problem on ebay.

When I sold my collection I made sure to include the shrinkwrap condition. It's part of the hobby, if I describe the SB as mint, then people would point out the tear and ask a million questions about it. It's just much simple to disclose every detail than to spend time answering the same question over and over.

The tension around here sure has been rising.

Aye, we are all passionate collector's but we also need to respect the opinions and choices of others, anyway let's get this thread back on topic.

Anyone looking for a cheap UK Skyfall may want to look here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKYFALL-B...t=UK_CDsDVDs_DVDs_DVDs_GL&hash=item19db850195 I can't see this going too high due to the fact that he hasn't even opened the box to inspect the steel, but maybe it's a risk worth taking?
