So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

thor hmv £185, i notice the top bidder has 0 feedback so no dought this wont get paid for

True enough about the top bidder. But 2nd highest bidder is willing to bid 180 quid for it, only 5 less than the top bidder. Not too shabby no? Unless of course, this bidder also couldn't be trusted either. Who to trust these days? It can really blow your mind sometimes.

I think you are missing the fact that the second bidder has a 75% bid activity with the seller so it is probably both been shill bidded by two bidders driving the price up since the legitimate bid of £25.

Will god have mercy and give this HMV Thor seller some valid bids! This is just killing me, and it ain't even my auction.

Team shill bidding is so common. I mean look at this, the top three bidders have 100%, 100% and 75% bid activity. They are trying to make this appear the on going bid value for it.

I suppos that's 1 likely scenerio. But it couldn't just be a couple of guys who really want the item? Could there be no other reason, than the one that's already been firmly implanted in your head? When I want to bid on an eBay item, I look at the price, and decided if I want to bid on it or not. I don't waste anytime deciding if Schill bidding or any kind of nonsense that's going on. I have a price firmly in mind, that's the max I'll pay for an item. Why waste so much time worrying about Schill bidding? Really who cares? By looking at someone's fake eBay name, you could tell that he's a Schill bidder? I'm not saying that it doesn't go on, but I would love to see you, or anyone else prove it in a court of law.

Nothing is confirmed. It's called balance of probabilities and with the Thor HMV steel bidded at £185 of two people who really want that item, of course not :hilarious: considering you can acquire one much cheaper. This discussion isn't what you want to pay, it's the fake bidding that drives the price up to falsely present the value of an item.

Like I said, I'd like to see you try and prove it in a court of law. It's not what you THINK you know, it's about what you can prove. Welcome to the real world, same as the old world.

stevo, it appears you have the same tunnel vision thinking as you always do and from my previous experience and discussions with you, this is still so obvious? I don't need to prove anything. As I previously recall you saying, you stated ebay bids represents the value of the steel? So in that case you regard Thor HMV valued at £185. In that case it becomes the top of the UK steel list, congratulations! :hilarious: Well done stevo :hilarious:

Here stevo, now Thor HMV is valued at £185, you might as well start collecting them all, after all you are mostly interested in expensive steels right?

I always standby what I say. I'm not always right, but I always standby what I say. Howabout we wait to see when the auction ends, see if its relisted OK? Maybe then it will be a clearer picture if any shenanigans went on. I guess by yours sarcasm, there was never an item sold on eBay that was overbidded. But then again, that may be in line with your way of reasoning. So how about proving your suspicions in a court of law? I assure you, I don't have any influence on the justice system. Check that, I think you should stay away, far away from that course of action.

I hope it does sell for £185, because then I can sell mine to you at a bargain price for £120 :) :hilarious: Surely you can't say no can you?

Suspicion confirmed. Apparently, you do believe there was never an item that was overbidded on eBay!

It's clear shill bidding in this case.
You can find the same steel (new & sealed with sticker) for half price £94.50

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THOR-STEE...t=UK_CDsDVDs_DVDs_DVDs_GL&hash=item2c75b18791

of course its shill bidding, if anyone actually pays attention, Thor HMV goes for bids between £70 - £85 realistically and any silly bids of £185 is nonsense. Basic common sense. Not exactly a rare steel as Thor Zavvi has increased many to start selling their HMV copies.

Shill bidding can easily be detected and proven by ebay. They just don't care, the only one it would benefit is the buyer who can luck out and get an item cheaper.
