Got the 1/4 slip and Type A early this morning. Was originally gonna go for one-click but then the 1/4 slip was announced and I figured 4 of the same was too much! I just picked my favorite 2. Will probably be my lowest numbers yet from PA, though, so I am pretty excited! #10863

plain, at the top of their game.

I disagree. While I did convince myself into getting the quad pack, I think Plain has had much better releases in the past.

For me, ZDT was the "top of their game." For this TTSS release, the slips don't seem too boldly different. (As you'd expect, since they're all designed by the same artist.) But on ZDT, the slips were each unique (night vision PET slip, beautiful full slip, PET 1/4 slip with lenti effect--first of its kind). Like for TTSS, ZDT also had a one-click bonus. (TTSS has the Collector's Kit; ZDT had a separate shipping box and a rolled poster.) And the icing on the ZDT cake was Plain getting official approval from Kathryn Bigelow, including her reprinted signature on a special sticker to put on the steelbook package.

So while I think this is a great release from Plain, I would wholeheartedly disagree that this is the best they can do. They've been better in the past and I hope that they'll be better in the future.

I like ZDT releases very much too. but saying they are not top of their game is your view. my view is that they are still at the top of their game. official approval can be very tricky. it's not their fault if they cannot get one. (if they tried) putting same bonuses like poster would be repeating earlier releases. IMO this is excellent release.

...and by saying they are top of their game I mean there is no comparison - is there. what TTSS release it better than this ?! none.

Two very different artists, they're nothing alike. Which is the real reason why this one-click isn't one of their best. They should have done a package that was all Krzysztof Domaradzki in addition to the package that's all Jonathan Burton. Actually, they should have just left Burton out altogether and done two packages that were all Domaradzki. I can't stand Burton's art . . . he's incapable of drawing people that look anything like the actual actors, whereas Domaradzki's people look like photos, as far as structure and proportion are concerned.

If this is the top of their game then I would worry greatly. They lowered the print run for overseas buyers in half and it still isn't sold out. The demand isn't there.

Was about to ask the same thing. If this release is so great and they cut the international stock in half why is everything still in stock? Just the posts on this site alone are what 20-25 quad packs? The stock for the 1/4 slip knocked down to only 130 copies and it doesn't sell out immediately? I agree with blu-steel the demand just isn't there for a catalog title like this.

The steelbook artwork is by Jonathan Burton.
So it would not be possible to left Burton out altogether
It's also the reason why Full Slip C artwork together with the steelbook looks a better match as both artworks is by Jonathan Burton.
