Because that border needs to be there so it can be embossed. That's why debossed steels win hands down. Although the borders on the old Viva Metal Box's were far better as they were a lot thinner.

Unsurprisingly it's not good - not much color and matte finish.

The front and back artwork look ok but the inside is a bit pants (SUPER ZOOM). Of all the scenes they could have used for the inside! Beginning to get fed up of these missed opportunities, you want these steels to look as good as can be for your favourite movie not mediocre. But because it's in a steel I'll end up buying it anyway. Just annoying!

Got mine this mornin and i like it. Maybe it was because i wasnt expecting much. The bullet holes on the title were a nice touch.

Got mine today, i am suprised at the quality of this, very dissapointing from ES, it reminds me of the recent Zavvi steels (the sixth sense)...
Tbh, from the front its not that bad but imo the back is really bad! Because they didnt have a white base layer the colours are almost invisible when held to the light, almost like the warner premium wave...

I'm a bit let down by this after the recent ES steels like Natural Born Killers which was fantastic, but then again the film is amazing so i dont really care, its a True Romance steel at the end of the day and i would have bought it no matter how bad or good it was

Still waiting for mine. I'm really not expecting much from the steel after all the comments but like yourself, at the end of the day, it's a true romance steel and I would not be happy to miss out owning one in my collection.

While it's not going to win steelbook of the year I think there are a lot lot worse out there. I've been waiting for ages in the hope this would get released so I was getting it either way. If there are others like me you are probably right UTB in that this was an easy sell.
