Hi All, I've renamed this thread, to allow anyone to post "fake" or "suspect" retailer or Ebay listings, so anyone can discuss/be warned. It allows traders to protect each other/discuss various listings that may or may not be authentic, officially supported Steelbook releases. -Digitalbabe.

From Lenocheck:
If any of you guys out there noticed a signed copy of Machete just sold on Ebay for over 200 dollars.
Was this an official steelbook or was this a FAKE ????
Would be interesting to read some of your opinions......as I thought it wasnt released yet.

EEK! why would you do that,i bought it!!!!!!

Only joking lol, i wouldnt be surprised if it was a few of the sellers friends bumping the price up then leaving feedback for it to make it look like the seller is legit ect, not saying thats what happened but i wouldnt be surprised.

Bet your bottom dollar that's what happened! I can't believe after the amount of people that reported the item it still remained listed :dunno:

One could wait until the buyer leaves feedback for the seller, and then be helpful in directing the buyer to pictures of the real Iron Man blu-ray steelbook. ;)

Can you contact the buyer after auction?

Coxy-you may be able to click the buyer's name in the feedback and send a message, unless the auction was "private"...

The buyer left feedback already. "Danke. Tolle Kommunikation und super Ware!!!" ---> = "Thank you. Great communication and great product!" EEK!

Couldn't imagine buyer's face if someone told him what exactly he got.:ohno:

I tried contacting him via the Ebay app but wouldn't let me :(

I want to be the one who breaks the bad news

Geez the IM Japan is going for that much? I settled for a lovely G2 of the Japan version ... but I can understand a completist ...ala my Inglourious basterds

I've seen folks not "rich" spend this much on items. I can't imagine someone that spends this much on limited items, not knowing or not caring that they are getting ripped off with unofficial releases. It makes no sense to me, since the DVD Ironman Steelbook is still cheap, and a true collector would not settle for a "home spun" package created at someone's kitchen table. Hopefully someone gets through to the buyer. And if he still refuses to believe he was duped, or decides to continue to buy "fakes" and unofficial releases, then he's not to be helped, :joy:

i dont think theres anywhere on the net you will find an official release date for this item, ive seen this set and it does look ok but you can kinda tell lol.
