Hi All, I've renamed this thread, to allow anyone to post "fake" or "suspect" retailer or Ebay listings, so anyone can discuss/be warned. It allows traders to protect each other/discuss various listings that may or may not be authentic, officially supported Steelbook releases. -Digitalbabe.

Its not an official steelbook the seller knows this he is just ripping people off.

if i was him i wouldnt risk it as he has 100% feedback

Fair point - though still interested to know what you guys see that tells you it's fake..

For one, it has asian lettering underneath the title. The fakes are made in Asia. A lot of the fakes before have had that same lil blu-ray logo up top. Its The Lion King, it would have been anounced big time, and I can cross reference the legitimacy of any steelbook with the actual person who pulls the trigger on the steelbook to ever get ordered to ever get manufactured. Although I'm bad on checking on this thread, if the members here can't prove it ... they'll probably ask a mod or myself to check on it being in fact real.

I got mention this is fake in AV forum, but got fella reply me the seller put never sell non genius copy....hmmm...sometimes I believe certain people is ...speechless...

Unfortunately, sometimes the seller either doesn't realize that their item is a fake, or, they deliberately use the fact that they have 100% feedback, because they know buyers will still trust them. (i.e " It must be legit because the person has 100% feedback")....

The other issue is, Ebay is so big, that the "report item" button only goes so far. Unless the staff at Ebay understands every single collectible, there's no way to stop this, unless Scanavo or someone else were to take action to claim bootlegging, copyright infringement, etc. But clearly, that's a Legal issue for the experts and not something we can solve or get involved with, here.

yeah ive seen a few iron man dvd steels sell on ebay, people must know before they bid though right lol?, i mean if you collect these then you know whats dvd and whats blu ray?

Ive just reported him again. Hopefully thery will do something this time.
He was a bit smarter this time as he made the auction private, maybe he reads this forum and does not want the winning bidder notified

Any idea? I doubt it's like buying dvd steelbook from somewhere and then combining with blu-ray disc but not sure because of google chrome translator.

I was the winning bidder for this one But did not pay the price shown, got a much less second chance offer. The Original bidder must have realised it was fake and not paid, or he did not want the buyers identity known so the could not be contacted. I did not realise it was a DVD version, have not been collecting steelbooks for long.
But luckily it has not yet arrived so have lodged a claim with paypal. Already had a claim lodged with this seller as he refused to ship other items out unless I paid more postage.

Luckily it has not arrived so can [should] get the refund from paypal. I purchased 4 items from him so that will be 4 negative feedbacks. And even more lucky I read this thread.

The ebay lady informed me she will personnaly esculate it Monday as there are a few problems with this seller.

This is the email I got from him regarding the other items purchased at the same time:

Hello
thanks for the cash but I do not think that it's enough.

are you interested in more items
so that the shipment is worth right?

PLEASE REPORT THIS ONE, before someone else gets scammed. It seems ebay require more than one report before any action is taken.
