I'm still going to buy and I wasn't that fussed either way about embossing but I'm glad that clean artwork will be cheaper.

I don't get this. I thought this was getting embossed with border and house and then the poll was set up as the border was controversial. The border look won the poll by more than double the results:

yet we've got clean artwork with no emboss? Is there a reason why?

I think the decision is made when you combine two poll results from Blufans and HDN. Moreover; it seems the majority of voices on the thread are against the border. That is why they decided to go with the clean artwork.

Thanks. I didnt know about the blufans poll but in a way, the blufans poll is the most important as it is a blufans steel.

I'm still happy that we're getting an UP steel whether its embossed or not lol

I think the embossed title/artwork would be great but that border ruined the artwork so I'm happy either way

IMO embossing/debossing is best when the artwork is simplistic but pixar and Disney titles have the best art and doesn't need to compensate for lack of design.

In fact, initially I am all for the embossed artwork. But after checking my first wave of FS Disney steelbooks, I think the clean artwork is quite original and beautiful as well.

I actually voted for the plain look (no embossing/debossing) as I think this looks absolutely superb that way. Though I would have been fine with it either way to be honest.

As it is though I suspect this will become my first non-UK steelbook. I've never been too fussed in the past but this just looks wonderful.

And what's the price difference to be honest between embossed and non-embossed?

Stating price high, low can be misleading.

Embossed $35 SB vs non-embossed $30 is not a big difference.
Unless the embossed version went for $50 and the non-embossed went for $30 then I can understand (but at the same time the company can't justify this big of a price difference).

In the end I believe the deciding factor was based on the skewed use of words high and low for the pricing that people went with.

Very valid point! Thats the only way I can seem to explain such a difference in the poll results between this forums and the blufans one.

Maybe more people did want the plain non-embossed version. I don't think there was one comment on the forum where a person chose non-embossed because it was cheaper.

I don't know how much influence HDN has on Blufans decisions, but if I was a Blufans member and the majority of the votes was to not have embossed, and Blufans decided to have embossing because HDN says so, I would be pretty cheesed off.

Well for me personally I had no idea there would be a price difference.

Price has zero to do with my preference. I just think this steelbook in particular will look clean and perfect with a high gloss flat finish, though I definitely would not have been miffed about a debossed title.
