Who is testing this sucker out? It's just fricking amazing, though it does crash, but its a BETA, and the best BETA I have ever tested..

haha...well i'm glad i updated anyways, less crashes was worth it

I actually had more problems with 7077, NIS 2009 didn't work, Programs protections don't work with the new build but the old build, and the same black background when i shut the lid of my laptop, when i reopen it up...

but yes, windows explorer isn't crashing, and when I delete stuff it gets deleted instead of sitting on the desktop saying its 0kb, then when i restart it would delete.. lol. Ooo, And at least adobe acrobat works on this version when using a pdf from the web.

use windows compatibility for stuff that doesn't work.

Windows 7 blocks the NIS 2009 driver before that, and the other product happens in the installation as well, its an admin error 0x0, call this company so they fix it, found out that they updated their protection and it doesn't work with windows 7.. but their older version does..

And the background thing can't be fixed with that, but yeah its a good tip for anything else, because it actually forces the program to work unlike vista.

Windows 7 RC coming May 5 for public consumption, out now for MSDN / TechNet subs

http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/18/windows-7-rc-coming-may-5-for-public-consumption-out-now-for-ms/

It's not as good as gold, but according to Microsoft's Partner Program website, Windows 7's release candidate is due out to the masses on May 5, a bit earlier than the BBC report had previously noted. MSDN and TechNet subscribers can apparently download the new build now, although Ars Technica is reporting it may not be up just yet. There's always the chance that this date was posted in error or will be pushed back, so in the meantime, perhaps marking your calendar with pencil or erasable pen isn't such a bad idea.

Windows 7 Set for a May 5 Public Release
by Paul Thurrott

A Microsoft website inadvertently leaked the software giant's plans to deliver the Release Candidate (RC) version of Windows 7 to the public on May 5, suggesting that the company has already delivered this version internally and will soon make it available to partners. The Windows 7 RC will be the last major pre-release milestone for Microsoft's next Windows version, which is now expected to be finalized by the end of the third quarter of 2009.

"Partners, if you have a subscription to MSDN or TechNet, you can download Windows 7 RC now," a page on the Microsoft website read over the weekend. "Otherwise, you can download Windows 7 RC starting May 5, 2009." The note, however, was erroneous and likely just posted early. As of this of writing, the Windows 7 RC hasn't been made available to Microsoft's partners. My expectation is that that will happen as early as tomorrow, two weeks before the expected public release.

By Monday, the note on the Microsoft website had been removed, and Microsoft has made no public comment about the gaffe. Readers might recall that a similar informational leak about the Windows 7 Beta occurred just before its release in January. One wonders if Microsoft isn't prepping its user base implicitly, but purposefully, with these leaks.

Windows 7 Official Release Candidate Is Build 7100

It’s been confirmed that Windows 7 Build 7100 is the official RC release. Complied on 21 April 2009 it is tagged as 7100.0.winmain_win7rc .090421-1700. More recent internal builds have been released, but 7100 is the official RC build.

The Windows 7 Release Candidate will be available for download on May 5th, although expect it to be leaked before then particualarly as MSDN and Technet subscribers will get it beforehand. Already fake torrents have been seen in the wild.

Builds 71XX will be based on RC1, and RC2 builds expected around August 2009 will be Builds 72XX. Given the pace of Windows 7’s development, if I were a betting man, I would put money in on the Windows 7 Release Date being before Christmas 2009.

If it isn't out on shelves before August 1st, its a fail on Microsoft, because they will miss everyone buying new computers for school
