i received mine yesterday but it was damaged ( no surprise considering the really poor packaging ), huge scratch on front next to the title , will sent it back and ask for a refund , i decided to order the french steelbook edition

i dont think its so bad.
for me, inside artwork and embossing/debossing is a bonus, not a requirement.
also, its nice to have a data sheet instead of printed text on the back, but i dont judge a steelbook on that either.
nor do i get put off by printer ratings (as the majority of uk releases have these)
all in all, its a decent enough release. its NOT a stickerbook, and it doesnt have the big blue banner on the front.
i would prefer the uk one to be more like the french one, granted, but i prefer the uk one on account of the title being correct.
i think we should stop expecting every steelbook released to be overly impressive.

it seems hmv exclusives are of a better calibre at present, we will just have to wait and see what happens with devils double, super 8, planetof the apes....
whatever happens though, i prefer to have steelbook on the shelf instead of an amaray.

I agree it's all about personal preference, however none of that excuses half of the letters of the logo being cut off the cover on either side.

Think you hit the nail on the head, probably folks's expectations were a little raised as it was a good film. Last comment though is spot on.
