i'm getting confused.... How many versions?? :D

And I guess the biggest question, will they be priced at "mondo price", or "blu fans price?"....

Cheers mate

WEA art versions?
Didn't realise that. I thought these were the only WEA from blufans that's so happened to be mondo too

So blu fans have 2 lots of WEA for avengers and age of ultron this year? Which also includes Mondo and a variant each for mondo!

Jeez that's a lot of avengers & AOU

Thats the word, they will do the Mondo ones first and the others later. We're still waiting on The Incredible Hulk, I'm actually hoping they come after this so phase one can be finished in order :thumbs:

Hi guys and gals. As you can see I am new to these forums... infact new to HDN completely.

I am a member of AVF and from the UK, however, and I am not a stranger to buying steelbooks.
I have a wide range of steelbooks and a part of many groups. The reason I have signed up here
is to;

a) Get the low down on new steels
b) Get in on group buys for overseas Marvel steelbooks (specifically those at present)

I have become aware of this new Mondo/Blufans steelbook for the Avengers (variant) and was wondering
if somebody could fill me in on how to go about getting a group buy for it.

What do you do? Who runs it? When and how do you pay? Are there specific links to pages to follow? etc.

I know some of you may use forum lingo that I am unfamiliar with right now so any help appreciated.

Much thanks in advance.

Hi @Dazzler_31117! We have a trading section and in there you will find a Group Buy section. There will be a link directly at the top page of this thread once the GB is open.

The Group buys are hosted by various helpful members and sometimes via the forum itself. You put your name down for how many copies ou require and then payment will need to be sent via paypal at a specified date. You will then be sent your Steelbook once the GB host recieves it. If you have any more questions just let me or one of the other Moderators know. Welcome to the forum!:)

@K.i.T @Sigill

Thanks guys, appreciated. I will only enter the group buys to get in on the Marvels right now until I
get used to buying via that method and the peeps overseeing the group buys are confident in that
I can be trusted to pay lol (trust me, I will be!)

I wasn't sure if a newbie to the forums would not be in them initially as there is no track record.

Thanks for the prompt reply and hopefully I won't miss out when it goes live lol.

The Group Buys are open to everyone. Once you put your name down you are required to pay though. If you watch the thread then you shouldn't miss out any info about the GB!:)

It's a real pity the steelbook artwork isn't full colour. It could have been eye-popping, instead it looks like an unfinished comic.

Maybe I got it wrong all these years. I always tried to keep it to releases in my country and now years later I'm left with mostly boring, uninspiring Steelbooks with bland artwork

I think I need to sell most of them and go after other Steelbooks from all over the world like this one.

There's so many to sell, I literally don't have the energy ha. Probably need to decide if Ebay or Amazon is better

I would post a thread here in our steelbook trade forum with prices to start - at least you'd be dealing with folks that you know are trustworthy and not have potential experiences where there are folks out there on those sales platforms that try to get something for nothing (or money off).

I may have to pass on this. Usually I get a giddy feeling when something excites me. Could just be me but the artwork is so lifeless. Its just a collage of many faces. There is no cohesion to it. Needed something to bring it all together.

I kinda like the idea that they have gone with colourising the slipcover. With the Terminator 2 Mondos I ended up getting both, regular and variant, but with this you sort of get the best of both worlds. I'm keeping my eyes open for the GB, definitely going in for the Variant.

Oh, you really like the "A" artwork...

I am totally blown away by Mondo's artworks, not only by these ones, but all of them. I am usually a big follower of art house films, and never thought that I would buy the regular Hollywood movies for my private blu-ray collection. Mondo's artworks changed my view and made me watch some of the films I never imagined of watching. I have all their 16 releases, and I am dying to get these #17 and #18. I am not a big fan of Marvel movies, and have only watched the first two iron man films. I never really felt like watching the Avengers films. Now, with these cover arts available to own, I am not only eager to add them to my collection, but also interested to explore the films. Same thing happened to me with Looper, Dredd, Flash Gordon, Highlander, and Labyrinth. They were never on my watch list ;)

Welcome to the forums @SUMAN CHATTERJEE I'll be hosting a Group Buy to help people obtain these all over the world. I'll have plenty of copies to go around. The first Avengers film is really good and one of the stronger films in the Marvel Universe tho granted much of that may be due to build up having seen many of the other stand alone films. However I think it can probably stand alone pretty well too. Better than Iron Man 2. So its a definite.

The artist Tyler Stout as noted in this thread is "not for some" taste (much like all art, subjective) However he is definitely FOR many people's tastes as he ones of the most known and recognized artists to work with Mondo frequently. I'm a huge fan myself owning many of his posters. I personally cant speak highly enough about him and his art. I love the collage look as it works very well for posters as I always catch some new detail walking by or glancing at them on my walls. :)
