I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

Not really a question per se, but using your awesome Ninja connections, could we possibly get some kind of inside look at how a steelbook is actually made? Can't find anything on the vast interwebz and it's just something I'd be interested to watch.

Wreck do know you anything regarding amazon.uk's listings of play former exclusives?

I'm interested in Hulk and Serenity, are they available or completeley sold out?

Until recently they had "sign up to get notified", now it says "Temporarily out of stock".

Do you know anything?

I was told its Universal pushing their stock to other retailers since the horizontal wave exclusivity ran out ... Only the Paramount titles did Play take all 4k up front ... so why they did sell through some stock on the Uni ones that doesnt mean it was all ... which also means that who knows how much zavvi and or amz UK took but it was leftovers of the 4k run.

Wreck, bearing in mind snooloui's post here, what's the chance that's this is a re-release to "coincide" with release of Bourne Legacy ??

Hey Wreck do you know what chance we have of Scanavo ever releasing blank G2 SB's?
Feels wrong to abuse released ones sometimes

Well due to some things last year and convo's I highly doubt it ... but who knows things could change. I dont see it happening tho, as then people start selling sticker customs on ebay etc. Gets messy for the studios as they have to exert manpower on reporting listings etc.

I saw a thread of the possible upcoming future shop steel and since you seem to be in the know on all things steelbook could you post a list of possible upcoming US or Best Buy steelbooks

The thread had the possibles. Can probably cross Zero Dark Thirty off that list tho ... unless someone else steps in ...

Wreck with Alliance being baught out by eOne will we no longer be getting Alliance Steelbook Waves in Canada? Any info on this at all?

I'm sure they will look at all things and see what is "working" and what "isn't" and I'm sure many can attest that when done right SteelBook and Alliance have a great partnership and sell through. Even that Expendables G1 sold through 99% in day one. Tho it is by far one of the best looking g1's out there. Hell I had to snatch it up as well.

That would be really cool. I've thought of this before but just never got around to it as I was always gearing up for one convention or another instead. Tho I doubt they would want this all out there simply as its probably chalked off as "trade secrets" as they've already had their fair share of people violating their patents already.

Instead with steels on them. After I saw I bought some at ikea myself. They do work but I'd still be a bit scared to put a grail on the wall like this. lol. Pretty neat way to display tho.

through metal I dont know ... Used to be case with cds most def. On the other hand, they dont have discs in their cases.

A lot of members on the german bluray-disc forum have done this already with the Ikea magnet, some examples :

I know that the steel is the same artwork worldwide apart from France and MM but it seems that not all HMVs have these and the ones that do only have around 40 max. Also, do you think this could be their last exclusive?

Alright folks, major news and updates with Zavvi that you UK collectors (and really all of us) will be very excited to hear. I will post back later today.

Yes. Lot of titles currently being discussed. I've given some really good insight on some that if it were to happen that way then they'd be beautiful. We'll see. And I cant discuss anything on which titles these are at the mo'.

I will say this tho. The person heading this is a film fan and wants to be able to also put out some titles on steel that one wouldnt think normally could get steel treatment. So if all goes well we should see a mixture of steels to please all.

Just that mindset alone is welcoming to hear. We dont need anymore Hellboy steels. ;p

Wreck can you tell us why Zavvi does exclusives now ? Is it because of play and hmv's downfall and they want to fill the gap or was the responsible person you mentionned earlier a former employee of one of these companies ?

Hey Wreck u know if UK edition of The Hobbit is going to get any special treatment like France and Germany?

I'ts great amazon.uk finally got an exclusive, but its also kinda annoying that what we seem to be getting here is so vanilla compared to the others

Also what kinda numbers do u think they will print for UK? larger like HMV or closer to 4K like Play?
