Hi All,

It looks like our former thread has become unavailable, so I am posting a new one. Feel free to post pics and share your worst experiences with damaged Steelbooks as received from retailers. I've stickied this one for now.

Thanks,
DB

Just got my Amazon.Ca order. As expected the steelbooks were just thrown into a box with no extra protection. Dented steelbooks galore...
Someone from Amazon.de needs to visit Amazon.ca and teach them how to pack.

I lucked out on last weeks amazon.ca order. Only one damaged steel. :scat:

If you can get a 20% damage rate with amazon.ca your doing very well IMO.

Just got my reply from planetaxel, seems my pics do not do the damage justice  Oh well its going back anyway!!

Agreed. My first order with them I had no damaged steels and the packaging was worse then this one. Go figure.

Hey guys-just a quick note, there are options for 'Packaging Feedback' for the Amazon sites. Please consider sending them your thoughts for any instances where you receive 'great' packaging, and those where you receive '#%^&@*' packaging:) Over time, hopefully their methods have changed. It seems they are starting to already, but your feedback will add to the chorus:scat:

OK i got an email on how to send my bent shawshank back to them, does anyone else find these the most wierd conditions ever!!

By the way i didnt make the words capital for emphasis, that is as it was emailed to me

Here's how to return your PlanetAxel.com order:

1. Put the item(s) to be returned in an envelope WITHOUT any significant form of protection.
2. Include a simple note in the package with this note written on it: 'PlanetAxel.COM ******'.
3. Mail it to the address below, using the CHEAPEST possible unregistered surface mail method. We accept the risk of this non-insured shipping method.

I've often suspected the warehousing at amazon.ca might be equally to blame as the poor packaging. Even when adequately packed their stuff still turn up with damages.

I ordered a lot of steelbooks from amazon.ca when they had the one-day special recently, out of the 20 or so I that arrived only 8 were perfect; all the others had some pretty serious scratches or dents on them. Packaging itself wasn't damaged, I tend to agree with the comment above that they have warehouse/storage issues at source.

On the plus side, I've managed to get refunds for the 12 or 13 that were shagged, so I'm just gonna give them to friends who aren't quite OCD as I am :)

just received eastern promises steel from amazon.ca on there one day deal they had it in a padded envelope ARRRRRRR, but the packaging didnt look damaged. upon opening the steel it has 7 major dints, paint scratches and stuck glue. looks like somebody put pritstick on it and stuck the sheet onto the steel. suspect this may have been a return and theyve resealed it.

sent off an email which wasnt very pleasent see what they say :(

not fun at all... my order from that day was surprisingly perfect, aside from a loose disc in one :ohno:

Happened the same to me with the exact same steelbook and amazon.ca
They refunded and i kept the steelbook.

just had a email back from amazon there sending a replacement and i dont need to return the original. at least there customer service is good even if nothing else. also just read there sending it expedited shipping so i dont get customs so they say, just hope it ships DHL though.

funny thing is though i got amercan history x in the same deal which came today also and that is perfect not a mark.

I just emailed Amazon Customer Service. I hear great things about their CS, do you think they will do anything?

I'm so sad :( This was pretty much the only SB I was looking forward to from the bunch I ordered..

Urgh! Sucks when that happens. I got a copy of Natural Born Killers digibook like that. A cotton bud and undiluted liquid soap sorted it out lovely though.

Amazon.ca are great on CS so glad you got it sorted out :)
