Hi All,

It looks like our former thread has become unavailable, so I am posting a new one. Feel free to post pics and share your worst experiences with damaged Steelbooks as received from retailers. I've stickied this one for now.

Thanks,
DB

This is about 2 weeks old now but this is what Royal Mail did to a steel I sold recently.

Already sent off for a claim as I'm out of pocket badly on this. No way this should have been damaged unless someone stood on it although to me it looks like it's been twisted somehow.

I would still buy this of you ;)

I have received the Matrix Steelbook from Amazon.ca. It was just packed in a normal cardboard. Once I opened it was badly damaged. The shape was like a banana. Once I opened it, it could not even close anymore. I obviously asked for it to be replaced.

Maybe asked before but here it goes....

Received Eastern Promises and I knew it has a great artwork back. I was real careful removing the J-card, but it looks like I bought the mother of all evil Eastern Promises steelbook when it comes to the glue underneath the J-card.

Something must have been wrong because its glue all over the back and it´s like painted with a brush. Of course the paper of the J-card got stuck here and there and it looks terrible!!!

Any ideas?

remove the back cover let it soak in warm soapy water, that should remove it

Reactions: Hooch
@Flip: Sorry for being stupid....the J-card is of the back of the steel. Do you mean to soak the back of the steel in the water?

Edit. Got it, thanks!

Got a Kill Bill a while back from amazon.ca and opened it before examining it. Then I noticed a dent that looks like it got stabbed by a small knife. Not the worst but still pretty pissed.

Why post a price for an item for sale, then when contacted about submitting payment up the price :angry::angry: all the while you bump your thread daily :wtf:

I know that amazon will honor a refund + replacement but that's not the point, this order was for 3 Willow's and they sent them out on 3 ****ing bare boxes obvioulsy complete frustration with client here.

No picture as of now, but received my Maltese Falcon steelbook from Zavvi a while ago (before the new packaging), and it had a dent on the top and a scratch too.
It's just such a ****** feeling to open up the package and realize it has been damaged. :(

I'm still in shock!!!

first time ever getting this condition EEK!
Mother of God. EEK!

I've just bought a couple of cheap steels of ebay that are supposed to be "in good condition" which probably means they will be dented to buggery, but it will give me the chance to take one apart and see if i can get the dents out.

Having never done it, how easy is it to remove the plastic section/disc holder from the steelbook without doing any more damage ?

E.T. from Target

Decided to buy 4 copies of E.T. from Target hoping I could find one/two good copies and free shipping. Plan on returning the rest. Every copy had some issues with it. :( I guess I won't be ordering Django online.

First copy has this issue.
