My wife has read the books and loved them. We only saw the first episode, but if the first one is any measure of the rest of the series, there was a lot of boob...and sex. So, at first glance, I'd say yes on the sexier - not sure on the bloody factor yet.

I thought there was more :boobies: & :ass:, also more :violent: in Spartacus. Having said that Khal Drogo knows how to ride his mount. If you've read the books then the sex was definitely cranked up, but not by a great deal. Nice paperweight that HBO shop is doing btw in the shape of the throne.

Sparticus is almost soft porn. Game of Thrones has the better story & actors plus bigger budget. Tyrion Lanister is one of the best characters ever.

+1 on all your points. Martin writes a good book, just takes an exceedingly long time to write them. Tyrion is played extremely well by Peter Dinklage, he absolutely revels in the part.

Although I loved the GoT I do have to say the first few episodes were hard to follow. There was a lot going on and viewers just got tossed in without any prior information. It wasn't until episode 3 and on that things sort of begin to make sense. I do feel that perhaps reading the books might give you a better understanding of the show's beginning.

The show itself is fantastic. from beginning to end. Costume design was great and the acting was top notch, especially Peter Dinklage as Tyrion!

There is a lot of nudity and sex scenes. I don't think there was an episode that didn't include any sex/nudity.

Thanks for the comments guys-I'll keep it in my Netflix Q...sounds like it would be up my alley. I liked Tudors (uncut US version), Spartacus, etc, and also love the classic epics like Ben Hur, etc etc.
