What do ya'll prefer to drink? Beer, Wine, Hard Liquor, Wine Coolers? All of them?

I only drink Beer and Hard Liquor. Mint Mojito is about the only thing close to a wine cooler I'll drink though LOL

I used Guinness in a chocolate cake once. I would have used Young's I had any around.

Oh hey, you still might need to use the bleach solution for your racking cane/bottling hose, etc...

Of course! I do have a little bit of the Iodophor(sp?) left over so I think it will cover those.

Been trying to harvest yeast from commercial beers for the last week.. the house is a sizzling 65 degrees so I think it's inhibiting my ability to grow cells...

I got a starter kit with 2000mL flask and am not new to starters.. I can make them easily and quickly with the packaged liquid yeasts like wyeast, and have washed and reused/repitched yeast out of the primary. So I'm just going for the really cool factor of taking yeast out of say a Sierra nevada Pale Ale and ramping it up and splitting so I can reuse their clean yeast (american 1056) without spending $7 a pack at my local store.


Either of the homebrewers on this board try this?

No such luck here... I have a couple of erlenmeyers but I think I've only used them maybe twice I've never tried anything with commercial yeast, usually just Wyeast for me.

it is the 09 batch right??? cuz i picked this up a few weeks ago and thats what they had. i also got some 06 and 07. I did just get some Bell's Batch 9000. and i can wait to try it in a year or two!!! next up Founders Nemesis

well it's packaged with the 2010 year stamp sooooo I'm guessing this is from 2009's brewing session?

if you found a sixer with a 2009 stamp, nice work.
