Just finished watching the World Premiere live Red carpet... boy... such excitement... and Carrie Fisher is CRAZY!!! Just PLAIN Crazy! Mark Hamill was EPIC!

Lol just watched bits of this. Fisher is brilliant in that and mark was quality.
George Lucas was a bit boring though and just kinda walks off in to an awkward Jurassic world ratings fight lol

I'm sure it'll fly past Jurassic World and possibly Titanic! And I'm thinking it wont beat AVATAR :dunno:... But I'm hoping it will! :woot:

Let's play a game

What are your Box Office Predictions?

Mine: of course it'll open at #1 - possibly around the $205-$225
and its box office run might finish at - #2 (Behind Avatar) $2.5 Billion

I think it's going to break all records. :D

My birthday is on the 18th, so I've always joked that Force Awakens is JJ's present to me. :p

Haha same mate... my dad used to take me to the cinema for my birthday all the time. In fact, we used to go a lot even when it wasn't my birthday lol. As far as I can remember though, the last time we went to the cinema was to see Bourne Ultimatum back in 2007, so it's been a while!

I think opening night is fully booked at my cinema anyway, so we couldn't book it for then even if we wanted to. I wanted to wait at least a week, but my dad doesn't live out this way, so can only make it over on certain days before he starts back at work. Do you have any idea when the movie's cinema run ends?

Nice! Great choice of film to see in IMAX. How much was it dude?

I agree with you... they have their faults, but they're still pretty fun at least. I actually just rewatched The Phantom Menace earlier for the first time in a long time, and I remember always hating Jar Jar, but this time the entire Gungan species annoyed the hell out of me lol.

Ah sweet, very soon then.

My dad used to take me when I was a kid but I used to go with my mum when i was older for some reason lol

I have no idea how long they run for but I imagine this will be about 2 months and then bring it back like they did with Jurassic world lol

I also watched all 6 recently.

I've caved in tonight and bought tickets for Thursday afternoon.

I have a crappy cinema near me and I don't drive so couldn't go IMAX plus too expensive and the cinema near me is £3 and a 5 min walk. So I went for it. Didn't think they would get it yet so I'm happy now plus only 4 seats taken lol.

Yeah Jurassic world looked fantastic and I think it was £17.00 (I think) which is a lot

How is it only £3 most places here for adult tickets it's almost £10 a ticket which is a ripoff

You wouldn't want to pay more at this cinema lol

£2.50 with a 50p order charge. If i walked round the corner tomorrow i could of saved 50p but just in case it gets busier
Oh and that's 3D too lol

I've allowed myself to read one very restrained spoiler free review, but that's it!
I've got tickets booked for tomorrow for 3D screenings at 3pm then again at 7pm :woot:

I may book another in IMAX depending on how good it is, but I may leave that for a week Lord so to let the film sink in.

Saw it today. No spoilers so don't panic. :D

Based on an earlier interview with George Lucas after he was given a special screening of the movie, boy was he right when he said The Force awakens was made for the fans.

I must say that after having the memory of the movie in my head the whole day, I'm kind of on the fence.

Although I understood the direction this took, I can't help but wonder how it would have turned out if Lucas was involved.

It's a no brainer that it will be a hit, but get the feeling some purists might not be so welcoming.

Wow these are the prices near us if you want 3D

Yeah but like I said my cinema is not great. That's the vue so the screens will prob be bigger and much better plus sound will be greater.
You pay for what you get.

My cinema is kind of perfect for Star Wars because it will be loud. If it's a quiet film then you hear the other films in the other screens.
Just an example of how bad it is.

So only worth seeing loud action films.
Plus cinemas like vue and empire have IMAX, studio screen, impact screens and so on and the image is much clearer with better 3D whereas mine is just digital I imagine as its in 3D. They must of had an upgrade.

The cinema itself for a small independent place does well because it's £2.50-£3.50 a ticket and that used to be just Monday and Tuesday but they changed it to all week but the quality is much less.

My IMAX is 20 mins away by car and it's about £17 a ticket and that's how I see Jurassic world but like I said I can't get there or afford it this month
