There were a lot of people dressed up at my midnight showing, I assume they were from the 501st or Rebel Legion as a lot of effort went into their costumes. An enjoyable movie, looking forward to Episode VIII

I saw Force Awakens last night with my wife and both sisters. Lots people were smiling after the movie and the overall feeling was very positive. People really liked it. Everything pretty much went the way I had thought, except the ending. For me it was quite predictable, but still loved it very much. I gave it 9 out of 10 over IMDb.

I am quite sad after seeing it, I have hope that Rian can do a better job but right now I am not too optimistic about any future Star Wars movies after seeing this fanboy effort.
There great bits in there but as a whole way too much trying to please the prequel haters and rehashing previous movies.
I'm still in for the steel but after seeing all seven at the cinema I have never felt down like I do right now :(

I have to agree @Hamill82 the story didn't really surprise me, but I really had a lot of fun watching it and I can't wait for the sequel.

It felt like a Star Wars greatest hits if that makes sense!

I did have one small niggle with the film:
When Chewie returns to base after Han's death, he walks right past Leia. No hug or anything.

Too much information. Not cool.

Yes I agree, we always have little niggles, but for a movie with so many expectations it delivered the most and some of things can be overlooked. Director was good, John Williams in his element and the whole cast did tremendous job, both old & young. Lots of likeable and interesting characters, few weaker ones. Force Awakens didn't suffer the tragicomic acting like we saw from Hayden Christensen and some others in the prequel trilogy. Ofcourse you cannot only blame the actors, since you need a good director also. I'm so happy for many things in this movie and I know Episode 8 will be even better, since few reasons which I'm not going to spoil here.

I absolutely loved this film.

Please only read the spoiler if you have seen the film.

I'm in love with daisy Ridley- she's great in this, Kylo ren is f*cking awesome- something about his manorisms and Adam drivers voice, BB-8 steals the show - he/ its incredible, loved seeing the old cast back and Han Solo was quality too.
Loved all the random creatures and aliens and it really felt like the orginal trilogy. Some great humour with the stormtrooper like previous films and some random creature moments that I loved (for instance the creature that pops up and has a little moan at the start when BB 8 goes through the dessert)
The 3D was good too with some great depth on certain scenes, especially when you first meet rey.
A lot of the things I thought was going to happen did happen and it's kinda predictable but enjoyable still.

I wonder is snoke really is that big or is it an illusion and really he's tiny like yoda.

CGI and action was on point

Only things that were a bit crappy was max von not lasting too long and captian phasma was pretty crappy. Also I knew Luke would turn up at the end but not that short lol

I still think rey is lukes daughter and I'm guessing he will be training her in the next film. The way she is with fixing things makes me think it's his daughter (from when she's in the falcon fixing it i thought that) plus the force and the lightsaber visions all adds up.

Also action was quite savage in the sense of storm troopers getting shot and killed.

Also a lot of tributes to the old films which I didn't mind.

Can't wait to see it again and the rest of the trilogy.

Come on, the only information was my opinion unless you didn't know who the director was for episode VIII in which case I should have put a spoiler up :wacky:
Others here have stated their thoughts on the film and it's not like we are going to see any info on the steel for quite a while and being Disney it could change the week before release.

Hats off to Abrams, he got this spot on IMO. At the risk of sounding like a geek, not a lot of films stir emotions in me or give me lump in my throat but this did. But then Star Wars is something that's been very close to me since childhood.

It was an awesome experience. No dodgy CGI or wooden acting on display here. It's back to basics. And the pacing of the film was perfect too. Fastest film I've sat through in a while.

Enjoy.....
