Without the diamond border and I'm in!

I agree. I much prefer it to the back-to-back art. it's clear that quite a bit of thought went in to this design, and I'd be perfectly happy for some variant of it appearing as the steelbook art.

Another cool design for the possible Sleeping Beauty steelbook could be-

Imagine the title embossed with a glossy finish. Pretty nice depiction of the dark them of this movie :D

That's cool artwork.

Speaking of Maleficent, is it possible that that's one of the 5 unknown releases for June 4, considering that it would coincide with the timing of the Maleficent movie's theatrical release?

I know Zavvi's Disney Collection has all been animated films so far (psuedo-exception for Mary Poppins), but perhaps all-live action movies may start to show up in this "Collection" too?

Beauty and the Beast - not currently available/vaulted

The Black Cauldron - not currently available/vaulted

The Lion King - not currently available/vaulted

These have been in the vault for the last 4 years. Lion king and beauty and the beast will be on everyone wish list.

Beauty and the Beast is on my most wanted list.

The Black Cauldren I believe is coming out on Ameray this year so maybe a steel book will come along at the same time.

The Lion King the Asian release is awesome so will take some beating

Lilo and stitch, and Emperors new groove are getting a UK ameray too, I think these two are pretty likely (argh hopefully. I'd love them)

Tarzan would be brilliant actually.

Tangled, beauty and the beast, princess and the frog, Atlantis, Pinocchio.... Can believe Pinocchio wasn't number 1 as it was the first classic DVD release

I think the films that remain in the vault vary by region. Pinocchio, for example is currently in the Disney vault in the American region, though still sells in Europe. Similar situation with Bambi. If they want to target a select market, they will just region lock the specific release. With the re-release of Sleeping Beauty, it seems that Disney has restarted the cycle with the Disney classics. Hopefully this is a good thing for us collectors :D

I wish they would have released all of them first before re releasing Sleeping Beauty. The UK release was really the best Disney effort in my opinion, it just ticked all the boxes.

I have 42 out of the 52 with the 5 from the war years being unlikely to see a release I am nearly there. That has been quite a task with having to buy US and UK releases, that is standard releases not steelbooks, all my classic steelbooks are double dips.

As Zavvi are UK based I would expect them to follow the UK available releases. It will be interesting to see what they do when they reach the truly awful "the wild" and Chicken little and meet the Robinsons as I expect they may have to do a very small print run to even sell a few

As the steelbooks aren't numbered (once they've been opened), if Disney decide to release Dinosaur and Winnie the Pooh in steelbooks them it'll be the perfect opportunity to own the US numbering system without having a load of mismatched designs on the shelf.

Whether or not some of the early releases like Melody Time get Blu-ray releases at all is obviously questionable, but if sales are strong enough for the steelbooks then there might be a chance somewhere down the line.

To the best of my knowledge, The Black Cauldron has never been a vaulted title. It just doesn't have a BD release anywhere (yet).

I've heard the same: summer 2014 UK release. Whether it will actually get a steelbook release to coincide is another matter.

Even following the UK releases you end up with mismatched designs on the shelf. I have been trying to get as many slipcovers as I can but will fail with Dinosaur. The UK releases with the numbers on are a total frustration as not all releases have them.
Disney seem to have for no reason what so ever put the number on The Lady and the Tramp Steel from the UK numbering system. As ever no consistency.

The only consistency now seems to be the worldwide steelbooks of the latest releases such as Frozen and The Lone Ranger with no titles.

Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp and Peter Pan have the number on the slip, but if you open the steelbooks then they match pretty much (the earlier releases have code numbers on the spine but new ones don't).

Aladdin is gloss and doesn't say Walt Disney on the spine like all the others, but with supposedly more gloss titles to come as long as they keep the logo at the top, title centralised and picture where it is then they'll all match.

I know this may not be considered one of Disney's classics, but the Fox & the Hound is one of my favorites! So if it was made into a steel book  That would be amazing (at least for me!) :D

Fox & the Hound is a Disney Classic its number 24 from the official Canon Disney list

So its possible at some stage if Zavvi release most of them

I finally bought Aladdin-steelbook from someone here in Finland and I have to say, seeing it for the first time by my own eyes and not just from video/pictures and damn it's gorgeous steelbook.

Now I'm probably even more sad that other Disney steelbooks weren't as good as this, would have been an amazing collection.
