It has been six weeks since the five new Disney titles were first announced and only Robin Hood has been revealed. I have to say that I have lost a lot of interest too and six weeks is hardly 'a blink-of-an-eye'.

In my opinion slower is better, because im not rich.

Surely it makes no difference when the details are revealed, they are all due on June 4th (though I imagine there will be plenty of shuffling as per usual from Zavvi).

It's gotten to the point where the longer they take announcing these, the less I care. They think they're creating a massive buzz but they're reeeaaally not (at least imo), like after Robin Hood was announced I was super pumped but that's died down completely now.

Although Zavvi is shooting themselves in the foot by killing the buzz with the delays in an announcement, I for one am happy if the actual date gets pushed back, too. It's been very hard to keep up with all the releases they came out with in such a short period of time. I'm not talking about simply the Disney releases. BJ, Mars Attacks, V for Vendetta, etc etc ... crazy! I just hope they don't say, "we are proud to release the Indiana Jones Steelbooks" DOH!

Need a breather (and funds) to absorb all this. :movie:

Cheers!

they push out the disneys so ridiculously fast that people don't know how to raise funds to keep up with them, and it's still not enough for you?
i guess that's the fast times we live in, if something's not available in a blink-of-an-eye, people loose interest immediately. :ugh:

It's not that they're not releasing them fast enough, if anything, setting the releases out over a few months is really convnient. What sucks is that Zavvi think they're doing this amazing, mysterious marketing strategy by announcing five more of their already popular steelbook line, but keeping the details ~*~secret~*~ for weeks on end. It was really exciting at first, like "oh my gosh FIVE!!! I hope my favourite Disney movie is given a steelbook!!!". It's a whole darn while later, and we know one title out of five. I don't really think it's that impatient to want basic product details of month old listings.

Oh how very true - attention span of a gnat most people; and politicians and retail companies thrive on it :(EEK!

I've been meaning to post this for a while (not sure if it been discussed yet) but with Sleeping Beauty being re-released later this year -it would be a pretty good assumption that that title will end up in this collection too :)

I for one hope that they release Bedknobs & Broomsticks as a steelbook. Loved that film as a child and don't even a DVD copy of it, just a old VHS (which I can't play). Love to upgrade to a blu-ray

I'm with you on that, I really hope it's in the next batch announced.. The artwork could look great.. it would be a day one pre order for me:D

I hope they re release the US steel book for this, or at least something on par. That came out before I started collecting and now it's very expensive on eBay - plus is region locked to NA.

On a side note, seems Zavvi completely gave up on Pixar steelbooks. Didn't sell as well as expected I suppose. Shame as I wanted The Incredibles :(

Zavvi have not given up on Pixar Steelbooks

They will still release more at later stage
There is no rush to release them and I'm sure most will be happy with the other Pixar releases delayed as there is already to many steelbooks been released recently and coming months

Jan/Feb/March/April/May/June
It still only the middle of March

Expect to see more Pixar Releases in July to December
Pixar Steelbooks were always going to take longer time to sell out there is no surprise in that and they eventually will be sold out it might take a year
Remember they only started the new Pixar Batch in January 2014
Toy Story etc

Disney Collection will always take priority over Pixar releases and is expected and Disney Collection would always sell out faster than Pixar

Is it just me, or is the QC on these really bad?

Since Fantasia, I haven't received a single one of these without even the slightest damage or problems and I'm not OCD. Most of the problems I'm having are on the back of the Steelbook behind the J-Card. There's air bubble-like imperfections especially in the corners (it's really noticeable on my copy of Dumbo because of the light blue background), and paint chips from the edge where the J-card folds in on the bottom. The only one that's gotten to me pretty much pristine is Lady and the Tramp.

While all of mine have arrived with no visible imperfections, you've made me curious. I have not opened my copies, so I now wonder what may lurk behind the j-cards.

I've noticed a few paint spots on my Disney Zavvi's too. But I'm happy with them for the most part... No dents at least. However, I'm still waiting on Mary Poppins and 101. Hopefully they don't take 4 weeks like Lady and the Tramp did for me.
