Here us a slight guide to the way I glossed mine ok here's what I used

Spoiler

A gravity fed spray gun

Then I used some accelerator and clear coat which I use when I spray cars also added is a slight but if thinners I think it's 2 to 1

The steels are wiped over with cleaners I get rid of grime and oil that fingers can lea e and any oils

Then I spray it in a booth which is heated and has ventilation AND IS HEATED KNOWN AS AN OVEN
Basically it what I use to spray car bits

Then spray and leave them to harden at least a day and this will be hard enough to polish to

OH I FORGOTTO ADD A PICTURE OF THE HARDENER AND THE FACT I GET ALL KITTED UP LIKE WALTER WHITE FROM BREAKING BAD ....

WELL A BREATHING MASK AND OVERALLS AS THIS STUFF ISNT GOOD FOR BREATHING IN A CONFINED SPACE

That's a nice finish I did mine today but my new gun needed setting up and I fear the pressure was too high so it might have bits in it . Have you sprayed the lenti

No. Would that work? What would it do to it?

I don't know to be honest can see why it won't work as lacquer is clear . But I think the thinners in it could dissolve it

Even the experienced users can get it wrong bits everywhere but give me a while and they will be sorted ..... I hope

There has been someone saying that these will cracking etc but here is a picture of some left over lacquer that I use and as you can see it's fairly flexible so up yours

Damn that's a **** ton of Dried Lacquer. My guess you are cleaning the work area??

no while spraying the aliens collection lots of bits were coming out so i just ditched the rest and you can see it in this there are are bits

Here is my X-Men DOFP Czech steel. It looks so good glossy!

You can see a few little specks/bubbles here:

And Life of Pi. Be careful and make sure that the glossy lacquer if totally dry before putting the magnet back on. I had to redo this one because the magnet smudged the acrylic. Wait at least a week.

It's an aerosol lacquer as sometimes that takes a while

You should show that to Fox so they realize how good gloss looks

Possibly, but I didn't gloss the really valuable ones. Some of the more common steelbooks wouldn't necessarily be LESS valuable because of the glossing.

I was just curious, as I have custom inside artwork on some. I love them, but other collectors may not.

Well I do sell my runs but like schrute says I haven't glossed the more valuable ones

I haven't glossed my Play.com Iron Man 1 & 2, nor my Thor steels. And obviously I haven't glossed the steelbooks that are released with a glossy finish - Transformers & Mission Impossible 1-4, Jack reacher, Avengers, etc...

I DID gloss the Star Wars steelbooks recently, and they look waaaaaayyyyy better.

I have glossed a glossy steel finding memo and cinder Ella but that was to include sparkles star wars I would class as too expensive lol although have done some for others
