With regards to Thor 3D, it's definitely not worth that much. It might just have been a case of two people wanting it really badly.

Also, almost all the Thor TH steels I've seen (several, trust me), almost all had a slashed spine, some more severe than others.

So I'm not sure if the copy that's been sold is a one off that's completely mint or if it also succumbed to the slash.

I sold one a few weeks ago with a slashed spine and it fetched £70+. I think an appropriate value would be approx £100 tops.

The problem with these auctions are that there really is not much volume of trading going on so its hard to gauge the true value.

As a collector of rare steelbooks, I loved his sales at ultra high prices. He brought the game to a different level.

What should I do now? The eBay customer support page states that I should wait seven days for the items to arrive or open up a case in the resolution center if the items don't show up.

So my concern is, if he somehow manages to withdraw all the money from PayPal, would eBay refund me from their own pocket?

I've never heard of Socrates cheating anyone. Well, if eBay can't protect you than PayPal will.

If he's permanently banned from eBay I wouldn't be surprised if he decided not the ship his recently concluded auctions (steelbooks).

There's also a question of, how would you deal with the situation if the steelbooks arrive with flaws?

Yeah, I know a few people who has ever bought from Socrates, and all the steels came in good time, in pristine condition. I have bought a few steels from him too, so I know he can deliver.

In all fairness, ebay is a tad boring now when you search "blu steelbook" and sort by highest price first, isn't it? And it will be obvious when he is back if you search via that manner...
