My Raid Steelbook had a slash on the wrapping but it did not get to the Steelbook spine itself. Makes me think that Amazon, Play and HMV all need to kick a few asses in their warehouses.

This has to be one of my new favourite steels. Absolutely love the colours and the embossing is spot on! The silver really makes the text pop too, and I love how when you get it in the right light Terminator's eye seems to glow. A big contender for steelbook of the year IMO. Kudos to Play once again! :notworthy:

Just looked at the transfer on this it looks very good. Ample amount of grain but not to much i dont think, plenty of detail. The audio is excellent aswell.

Gotta admit, I'm a little gutted mine didn't come today. Had planned to do some great pics with this and my T2 statues :naughty:

Think we may owe some play.com staff an apology. I know for a fact that these slashed spines are not 100% from retailers.

Explain this, how come my Terminator copy has a slashed spine? Slashed when the cardboard slip was placed over the slash mark AND the slip and seal have zero marks......

Something must be happening at the manufacturing process too, it's not just staff opening boxes causing every slash.

Thankfully I ordered a spare just in case something like this happened (why should we have to do that?). I'll be sending this back unless anybody wants it (see my trade thread shortly).

Anyhow, here are some pics.

I'd rather have a slashed spine than what mine turned up like! :(

Video is uploading as we speak!

And what do you know! Arrived half an hour ago :scat:

That is one sexy package Sunny!
Sorry to hear those that got slashed spines, I got a tiny paint chip, thankfully visible through the shrink wrap. How is it that you can check a steel over with a microscope and find nothing then as soon as you open it a paint chips staring you in the face where it should have been visible before? Only seem to get these on black steels for some reason? My copies of Avengers and Alien anthology both had one! Just gonna have to grin and bare it especially as its OOP now, could be worse

On a side note, it's a shame that retailers can't send out the spines to replace the slashed ones? They could just reprint the metal strips and then all you'd need to do is peel off the original spine and stick the new one on in it's place! Simples!!

it ruins the inside art if you just peel off the spine, the glue goes everywhere and a nightmare to remove

Late, late post today, but they turned up :)

One has the spine slash issue, but don't think it's got through the slip card.

One question - if you have a copy with the slip card properly lined up at the BOTTOM of the steelbook, is it worth extra given how rare they seem to be!!? ;) such a shame they cover up half the front of the steelbook in some cases :(

These are all for other Ninjas before the PMs start coming in!

They have been doing the double box packaging for a while now. I imagine it is to keep costs down.

If I decide to sell any the double box is a hindrance and the main reason I buy from play is for those single box packaging! I order one at a time if it doesn't sell out to avoid that packaging :hilarious:
