stickerbook and G1 are all STEELBOOK, but we still get people get all fit about it LOL...

Think you hit the nail on the head, probably folks's expectations were a little raised as it was a good film. Last comment though is spot on.

The next FOX release is RotPotA in both countries. Now, which release is the most likely to be the winner?

The biggest problem people have with this is that there are multiple releases, all with weaknesses that the others don't have. If this were the only steelbook for this movie, people would be disappointed, but not as vocal about it. I just don't like that I'm paying so much for a movie that comes in a so-so looking case is all.

why can't both be a winner? We have been given an option of choices...so pick the best one that fit you. If you ask 100 people of which one they like, I guaranteed you that not all 100 is going to agree with one side being the best looking one.

You prefer inside art while I prefer a blank one so I can customize it, I prefer rating logo while you like it without one, etc... There is no right or wrong...

Anyhow....buy what makes you happy...

I personally buy for the film itself, if it has a steel book or special edition version then I buy that.

I don't think I would ever buy something just for the packaging.

But that is just me.

I think the Xmen play.com steel looks good. I would have no complaints if I had one.

I was expecting it to be awful, but it actually looks fine

i think for me, im happy enough with it due to all the negative feedback about it.
i expected dissapointment, but on the whole its an average steelbook. not poor, not amazing, just average.
tbh, i prefer it to my german wolverine steelbook (which has a huge printed fsk logo)
and the first 3 films dont have steelbook editions, so its still the best xmen steelbook for me. i might have prefered the french one if it had the correct english title, but i avoid foreign language titles on my steels (hence war of the worlds and day the earth stood still no longer being in my collection)
it would be ideal if there were another release, embossed, inside artwork (probably asian or US) but it would be pricey.
im also hoping for another edition of source code that isnt a stickerbook, i was torn between just the amaray with lenty slip and the stickerbook.
but at least a stickerbook is a pretend steelbook, its the best deal available.

Couldn't agree with you more with this steel, it's not that bad. It's not an iron pack, it's not a sticker book. I don't get why people are complaining. I've got a few French ones, and its a beautiful steel, shame about the French on it though lol.

Well, from what I've seen it's ab on the back but b on the disc. Pud went out of his way and checked the region on his PC to confirm it works in region a. I will confirm as soon as I receive it.

Well, I only got the play.com UK version and opened it. Wouldn't play on my player. I didn't try my ps3 yet but my other Sony said it wasn't made for my region. As stated before, the disc says "A" but the case says "AB". If you have a region free player open the one you would like to show off. Hope that helps. Good luck kiddo

Well, you'll have to swap out the discs in the French version so you may as well open the UK version. Once the French version goes oop, it will be good for trading/selling. The French version is the nicer one though, hands down.

Edit: After reading Colombian's post, you may as well open the French one if the UK doesn't play in region A players.

Yeah sounds like you got 2 region B steelies. Keep the French, sell the UK ... buy a region free player and never worry about region codes again.
