I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

We have Trading Standards in the UK, who you can complain to on matters like this.

Thanks Dave; quite right - you beat me to it :)

Frankly I think a letter or petition explaining the situation, and signed by a good number of people ought to be sent to Trading Standards to get Zavvi to conform.

Otherwise I just see them carrying on with deficient packaging and trying to bully people as they choose when they have the temerity to complain about damaged goods!

Blu-devil i totally agree with you....received Maniac Cop on Friday in....YEP! you guessed it...A1 mailer with a piece of toilet paper!!!:angry: thankfully undamaged!!!

The real test is going to be this week coming....5 Disney steelbooks released!!! it is going to be total carnage that will make the V For Vendetta fiasco look like a children's tea party!!!

I have Hercules, Mulan, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Indy I-IV, Captain America:Winter Soldier & Army of Darkness pre-ordered....if they come through undamaged::ohno::ohno::ohno::ohno:....and zavvi persist in crap packaging for premium products then NO MORE from me...and i have probably bought over 100 steelbooks from them!!!!

Their recently amended terms & conditions are basically a "get-out" clause for them, i'm going to forward it to Trading Standards for their comments!!

Zavvi as a company do NOT care for their customers, their customer service is the WORST in this country...and that takes some doing!!! They sell stock on their third party bases at Ebay & Amazon at inflated prices while telling customers with damaged steelbooks that there are NO replacements available....:angry::angry: Just a downright horrible company run by a bunch of money grabbing shysters!!!!!!! I refuse to buy at inflated prices on Ebay so i will buy the exclusives!!! I have NO choice!!!:(:(

Have you also noticed their recent steelbook announcements!!! not exactly earth shattering are they!! Can Zavvi get any further up StuioCanal's rectum????

I for one will certainly not shed a tear at Zavvi's demise!!!! It happens to all GREEDY companies in the end!!!

David.

Zavvi send all items ordered separately

as in 5 separate shipments

That's is clearly not always true I got a bunch of steelbook in a bag no protection at all. Of course all damaged.

I have had to deal with Zavvi's customer service in the last couple of days. I ordered a copy of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief but forgot to use a discount code as I had intended. Therefore I placed another order using the discount. I tried to cancel the first order but of course I received a failed cancellation notice which I was expecting really. I figured one might arrive damaged due to the new packaging, but both seemed to be mint. I therefore decided to contact Zavvi to return the item as unwanted so I sent the following email yesterday using the relevant options in the account section:
Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to complain about the poor service Zavvi provides in regards to cancellations. I placed an order for this item on June 24th at 17:01. Immediately after, I realised that I had forgotten to apply a discount code I had intended to use. I therefore pressed the cancel button on the Zavvi site and placed another order with the discount code. The problem is that I received a failed cancellation notice. I find it hard to believe that any of your staff could have begun to 'prepare for dispatch' in the mere seconds between placing the order and then attempting to cancel it. I would therefore appreciate a Collect Plus label to return this item.

Regards
x

Here is the response I received today:
Hello x,

Thank you for getting in touch with us about cancelling order x.

I have not been able to cancel this as it has already entered the dispatch process, I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

Given the cancellation was requested shortly after placing the order, we are more than happy to provide you with a free method of return.

You will shortly receive two emails, one will contain instructions on how to return your goods and a copy of our returns form, the other will contain a Collect Plus label which will allow you to return the goods free of charge.

Once you receive the goods please send them back to us by attaching the Collect Plus label to the outside of the parcel and ensuring that the returns form is completed and placed inside.

The location of your nearest collect plus store is-

x

It is strongly recommended that you ask for a tracking number when sending the parcel back to us and keep a reference of this number until your refund has been received and processed.

If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Tim
Zavvi.com Customer Service Team

If you just ask for a full refund and returns authorisation outright, they will usually oblige in my experience. I even managed to return two spine slashed copies of Bambi without even a hint of a partial refund. I find that being direct and asking for exactly what you want is the best policy with Zavvi. The key is to be polite but not a pushover and so far I have no issues with at least half a dozen returns. Admittedly it does take them a while to process returns, but it's all good as long as the right outcome is reached.

That's is clearly not always true I got a bunch of steelbook in a bag no protection at all. Of course all damaged.

I never seen that happen ever with Zavvi

All my orders have been sent seperate and I often order 5 different steelbooks in a order with some having the same release date

Everyone of them was sent separate in either a white box or cardboard mailer

I have ordered over 250 steelbooks from Zavvi every one was shipped separately
I have never got Zavvi delivery of more than 1 Steelbook in a parcel

Example
It even tells you in your order email confirmation
Thank you for your order with Zavvi.com. Details of your order are listed below
To make sure you get your items as soon as possible, we post and charge separately for each item. Please note, for Credit Card and PayPal orders, that payment is not taken until point of dispatch.

Do explain?

1. Loyalty Rewardz
You earn rewardz points every time you spend with zavvi. For every £1 you spend with zavvi, you earn 1 zavvi reward point. Each point is worth a penny, so if you spend £100 on your order, you would earn 100 Rewardz points which converts to £1 off a future purchase. The points really do add up - we know because we see how much customers save when they spend them! Watch out for special zavvi Rewardz points promotions from time to time for the chance to earn extra Rewardz points.

Zavvi & loyalty to their customers!!!

They wouldn't know loyalty if it kicked them up the arse!!!!!

F****** disgusting company only in it for maximum profits!!!!!!

I've passed on their "amended" T & C's to Trading Standards...basically it's a "get-out" contract for any damaged steelbooks!!! F****** disgusting!!!!

Could anyone tell me what it is that they have amended in their Terms and conditions? :)

Noting has been amended
A member of this forum made up his opinion to what he thinks is the terms and conditions but its not what is listed in Zavvi terms and conditions
Some what he posted was funny and that's all it was a joke post

Zavvi have not changed their terms and conditions

Maybe they've phased out reward points in order to introduce something better, because lets face it they were pretty redundant when compared to something like Arrow's rewards system.

Getting 11p off a steelbook here and there doesn't quite have me excited.

After my Indy steels arrive I will have no more to do with scavvi. They are a joke. They issue so called good will discount codes that do not work, then refuse to sort things out. I hope they go belly up....SOON. Any business that treats it's customers this way does not deserve to continue doing said business.

I'm in exactly in the same boat with the Indy steels. The chance of getting 4 out of 4 undamaged is very unlikely! :ohno:

I said I would not order anything after V for Vendetta unless big changes were made. I stuck to my word.

In the mean time, I have been hunting, haggling and buying some older releases, like the play.com ones.

It's been enjoyable and rewarding. I don't have that excitement with Zavvi, just plain old worry, stress and disappointment.

With Zavvi starting to cost cut with the packaging and now removing reward points, edges me towards thinking they are feeling the pinch financially.

Last year I left neutral feedback on eBay - Zavvi messaged me offering £10 to my PayPal " to make a negative experience into a positive one" - very classy!

Let's not forget, the parent company are the Hut. Steelbooks are a side dish for the company, so I would not be surprised if they stop producing exclusives and ultra print runs in 12 months time.

Overall, good riddance, if that be the case. The staff won't lose their jobs. I have spoken to staff on the phone. They work on every department, not just steelbooks.
