I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Hey guys. I hope someone can help me. How can I disable the newsletter from Zavvi? I can't stand these up to two emails with advertisement everyday. In my account settings I can't find a way to disable it. Will I have to let my account deleted?

you have to contact customer care to be removed from the newsletter list

Hi Ninja's my debit card expires in September,so I will get a new one sent out.question is will i beable to change my details for my pre-orders,such as my 3 Indiana Jones ?

they will send you a email before dispatch saying they can't take a payment but they will then let you enter your new details so you will be fine, happened to me recently when I got a new card.

So apparently Zavvi doesnt use that fancy padded box when they ship to the US. finally got my Children of Men steel and it came in a flimsy cardboard box and it has a few dents. yay!

Sorry to hear that. I guess it depends on which warehouse the steelbooks are coming from. Apparently, all zavvi exclusives are shipped in the box, but some old ones still come in a cardboard envelope or a jiffy bag. From my experience, however, the new box is not as protective as we expect: the sponge pad is too thin.

I kind of thought of that. There is an ad for Sainsbury's website in my box. I thought that was weird. Is it possible Zavvi shipped it from Sainsbury?

I wish we could buy just the Steelbook from them. Would be cool as most films are region locked...I hate you region codes

I recall three steelbooks arrived in a cardboard mailer with some ads including Sainsbury's. It's my first that that multiple items from zavvi were shipped in a single mailer with ads. Maybe zavvi shares some of its warehouses with Sainsbury's? Actually, I thought it's from Sweden due to its return address...:)

2 Steelbooks from Zavvi yesterday both in cardboard boxes. 1 has a loose disc and the other has a dent in top right hand corner. Have gone through the query process and sent email for return and replacement but no reply as yet.

Just one of those things unfortunately of online shopping, returns is a hassle, especially with TheHut group who have the slowest process.

One other order I had took 4 weeks to resolve. EEK!

I ordered Scanners Steelbook from Zavvi last week (Tuesday), it arrived yesterday in nothing more than a thin cardboard envelope...No padding or protection of any kind!!

I thought Zavvi were supposed to have decent packaging for their Steelbooks? This was my first Steelbook order from Zavvi...Normally use Amazon, and used to use Play, but thought I'd try Zavvi as I'd heard their packaging was good.

I'd think twice before ordering a Steelbook from them again now, to be honest...

That must be it, then. I was wondering why a few of my steelbook orders have come in the cardboard box while others arrived in just the bubble mailer.

Thankfully, I've had only one damaged steelbook and the damage was very minor, enough that it doesn't bother me so I didn't bother trying to get a return.

Does anybody know of a good resource to find out whether a particular Blu-ray release on Zavvi.com will be region free? From what I've read online most Blu-rays tend to be region free, but with the cost of steelbook editions I'm a bit wary of ordering something that may very well be technically unwatchable

I head a number of horror stories about Zavvi, but decided to give them a try as here in the U.S. we get very few retailers even willing to ship to us.. Zavvi ships to me and as long as you don't mind a bit of a wait I've ordered nearly 20 steels from them (together and seperate) without any issue.. Their packing is the greatest, they normally ship steels if seperate in the above pictured thin white box with some light foam and together in a large brown box something like Amazon, but I've not run into an issue yet.. I've not had to return anything yet so no comment on that.

How are Zavvi for steelbook returns for common problems like paint chips? Easy to go through? Quick refund? Want to return both Star Treks but if its a hassle ill just sell them

One of my orders with zavvi has recently been cancelled due to an issue with paypal. I had no funds in my paypal but plenty of cash in my bank which paypal is linked with. I am now really concerned about my other orders (in particular Aladdin and finding nemo). Is there at way I can change the payment method before they try and take payment? Will it make any difference if I make sure there is enough money sitting in my paypal balance to cover the orders?
