I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Well, they're determined to have proof of postage (which I no longer have) and now they're also asking for proof of the confirmation email (which I deleted weeks ago and has since been auto-deleted from my trash).

I really am getting sick of Zavvi's customer service. Emails back and forth is just not productive, they should either have a live chat (like Amazon and Play) or a phone number.

None of this would've happened if I was just able to cancel an order within 10 minutes of making it.

Their customer service recently has been a joke I've had a number of damaged steels that I have to send back and they take forever and many emails to get replacements :(

Amen.

Two weeks ago I made a post concerning an error I made with Zavvi. Foolish as I was, I checked out with three items, however a minute in I had the shadow of the doubt and decided to cancel these said items. Contrary to belief, Zavvi refused to cancel them and claimed they were "awaiting stock pick" straight away :squint:. After I received the item I repackaged it and sent it back, a week or so later got my refund.

No it's not hard to return items but that's beside the point. It's an utter inconvenience. I feel a little for Zavvi's employees working in the warehouse, who thanks to this have even more work to do which could've been prevented within a mere "Order Cancelled" email.

Why have the cancel button if it's unable to function? I think it's a ploy hoping once the items are received in hand, the customer might not bother to send them back. I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by this.

I'm still keeping my pre-orders but I'm going to try my best to not use them as much as possible until we're able to cancel active items.

That rant felt good

P.S. I hope Zavvi resolve this issue with you promptly!

CasuallyDressed that sounds just ridiculous, looks like they have a nice farce going on. I couldn't stop laughing when "Hello Emma" came, but you're currently probably more frustrated than amused. Thank God I haven't faced problems like that...

Ok, so I got a replacement steelbook that were damaged. Zavvi refuses to process another replacement unless I send them a photo of both the original and replacement. As I am away on a trip there's nothing I can do about that. I've sent them photos of the damaged steelbooks (separately). Surely they just want to make sure that they are not cheated, but this is silly.

Zavvi asking for Feedback :D

They've even asked me to review the last item I purchased before, I've tried it a few times and they don't even publish the review sometimes. It's not as if saying it's a nice steelbook with great artwork is inappropriate or spoiler worthy so why ask me to submit a review if they never appear of the site? :wtf:

Until I see it actually stated in the listing or on the steelbook itself I dont believe anything zavvi says.

How would either of those things make it more believable? I don't think Scanavo would allow Zavvi to falsely advertise their merchandise anyway as it is potentially damaging to their brand.

Zavvi isnt the one advertising 4000-5000.

If it doesnt say a number in their listing they can make the print run larger at any time. That is not anything against Scanavo. How many disney steelbooks say the actual number in the listing? I remember seeing it and then they were reomoved on a few. Why do you think that is?

Anyway it doesnt matter. Still going to buy one or 2 of each Disney. Hopefully without spine slashes.

There was a post somewhere saying Zaavi experienced factory problems with their Disney and Pixar steelbooks. This therefore reduced their quantity by a lot. Although I am not sure, I have a feeling that very limited is in the 1k to 2k range now.

Was very surprised to recieve an email saying that Mulan had sold out. I think they no longer want to have "too much stock" of Disney titles and rather sell out than have excess copies like The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid.

I have to say Zavvi was awesome at replacing my Cinderella when it had a spine slash! So nothing bad to say about their CS ;) I think the limit would be around 2,500 to 4,000. If not they would have marketed it as an ultra limited exclusive like they have done with a handful of other titles that released with a 2K limit. Either way I think the artwork is pretty nice, so I ordered one!

I had that feeling this will sell out so ordered 2 copies since I can't find other Disneys I wanted for 15% off, anyway as any Steelbooks from Zavvi, this will come back in stock.

I don't even know why Zavvi is bothering with these marketing shenanigans (i.e. lying to customers that "any" Disney steelbook, besides Aladdin, can actually go out of stock) in order to move a few thousand units of product that's going to net them what...1-2 GBP per item at best? They might not even be making money at all on overseas purchases when they charge 1 pound for shipping to the U.S. Granted, this does show from what a small volume e-commerce retailer Zavvi truly is.

You are kidding yourself big time if you think Zavvi are only making 1 to 2 quid a copy per steelbook!

Equally kidding yourself if you think they are a smalltime business.

As for lying that items have gone out of stock - forget it.
The reason items show as out of stock quickly is that there are still lots of greedy idiots who re-sell through ebay, each buying between ten and twenty copies average.

Zavvi don't manually monitor the orders as they go through. However, once sold out, they DO go through them manually, and the remainder come back into stock.

Crikey, I thought I was cynical!
