I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Ricardo, that is simply unacceptable. I would be on the phone with a Zavvi rep ripping them to shreds. Not to mention how pi$$ed off I would be! I hate seeing things like this. You look forward to getting your item that you paid for and it arrives damaged. I'm frustrated for you!
How is that damage Zavvi's fault? Let alone the rep you would 'rip to shreds'. Damage clearly occurred before the steel was even sealed and it's hidden under the J card. Absolutely no way Zavvi's staff could've caught this before packing it up.

I understand being annoyed, but be annoyed at the right person.

MrBMT mentioned that he Ricardo should go for the refund but Zavvi most likely will NOT give it to him and only MAYBE give him their standard 10%. Any rep I'm on the phone with giving me that pile of crap is getting ripped. Maybe you handle things differently but not me. Clearly the rep I would speak to isn't the person who's fault it is, but there's no way I'm not making a big stink when I receive a damaged steel.

It doesn't matter if it happened under the J card. It's about customer service. It's not their fault, it certainly isn't Ricardo's, but something has to be done. I wouldn't be disrespectful and I certainly wouldn't be cursing, I would express my clear frustration and annoyance.

I didn't mention about ripping anyone to shreds I just want a decent outcome for me and my pocket why are people so easily pushed over to say yeah that's fine I've spent £25 on damaged goods but it's not there fault so I'll just keep quiet and loose out
I bought from zavvi so I'm obviously going to get in touch with them it's then up to them to chase there suppliers for a refund

I ordered iron man 3D bluray last week for £12, when it arrived they sent the 2D bluray inside the 3D bluray slipcover, i was annoyed and all i got was a %25 discount, i took it and im saving it for a birthday present for a mate.

Under the sale of goods act you actually had the right to a full refund as the item was "not as described" (though by accepting their offer you waved that right and can't do anything about it now).

Likewise, for those that have theirs arrive damaged the item sold must be of "satisfactory quality" again, if it's not you're entitled to a full refund (upon return of the item).

Long story short, don't accept "partial refund" offers that they try to fob you off with.
If you want a full refund say no, I know my rights, I would like to return this for a full refund.

Exactly. That's definitely put much better than my previous rant lol. Maybe the ripping to shreds was too much but definitely try to get a full refund or something that will satisfy you.

That'll be because I wasn't talking to you. I quoted frshcoupe.

And I didn't say anything about rolling over and just accepting the damage. There's a difference between being reasonably coolheaded and jumping down an innocent person's throat.

Or wait 2 weeks, declare it missing in transit and keep the damaged copy. Morally wrong, but you get your money back to use on another copy and have a spare front and inside to use as you see fit.

Can they send you another copy when they get more in stock? It really is an unfortunate situation, but I hope they do something for you whatever it is. Keep us posted on what you decide to do or what happens.

That's the problem, these are limited print-run releases and when they're sold out, they're sold out.
Zavvi don't bother keeping back any spares in case of damage (unlike responsible retailers such as KimchiDVD who are awesome ) because they'd rather make as much $£€ :greedy: as quickly possible.

I have purchased maybe less than 10 steels from Zavvi and none have been damaged. I don't know how often this happens but they should maybe have some to the side in the event some that are sent out are damaged so that customers can be sent another copy. It might not be best for their bottom like lol, but the customers would be very satisfied in sure.

But imagine you receive a damaged copy and then you are sent a replacement, then even that copy is damaged....then what?

And of course, after making it clear that I wanted a replacement steelbook, and not a partial refund, their reply was...

To offer me a partial refund! On a steelbook that has 8 large dents across the front.

I honestly wish Zavvi would just go out of business so that someone else would take over the steelbook market. Why couldn't Amazon have stepped up instead of these useless tosspots?

I've purchased 18 from Zavvi (and have another 3 pre-ordered) and have been lucky enough for only one to turn up (slightly) damaged so far *touch wood*.
I swear my postie is extra careful with Zavvi packages based on all the horror stories you see/hear here.

Yeah it'd be nice if Zavvi kept some back, but I don't see it happening. It took them long enough just to return to using the white boxes.

Whats happening @ Zavvi atm?
No Indiana Jones Steelbook order is processed correct, no matter if PayPal of Creditcard... any official words from Zavvi?
Because the Steelbooks are sold out, cancelation is no option Zavvi - do something fast!!

Have you tried contacting them via their website when logged in to your account? Unfortunately no one here can do anything about that.
