Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Well, what's the status of your previous orders? You might have to risk ordering and then cancelling the old ones before any charging.

also got following message from zavvi concerning my previous orders :

"I am really sorry but there has been a problem when we tried to take funds from your PayPal account.
We are unable to resolve problems with PayPal on your behalf, therefore this order will need to be cancelled and you will need to please place the order again.
We would advise that this order is placed as soon as possible due to limited stock to avoid any disappointment."
If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help."

looks like they have sent me an automated response because i didn't choose for PayPal as payment option

Been essentially robbed blind by Zavvi, could've saved £8 on Indy Steels and Toxic Avenger if I had cancelled them. Do you think if I pester them enough I can return them with a Collect Plus label?

I noticed this as well and @snooloui mentioned it somewhere. Anyone who missed the first wave of pre orders or just came in very late in the game has been given a tidy little discount (5of50of or something), whereas those of us who got in on the ground level are doomed to pay full price.

Nice customer loyalty there, Zavvi.

By the way all the Indy's steels I pre-ordered with credit card has been shipped but the one I pre-ordered with Paypal has not been yet

Zavvi got back to me about my damaged Scream steelbook. I sent them a very stern email about their partial refund offer (I didn't insult anyone, but I was pretty uncivil about it this time). They've sent me a free replacement, but haven't said anything about returning the old one. Maybe it's so damaged that it's not worth anything to them.

I received my Toxic Avenger steelbook that was shipped on August 15th in an A1 cardboard mailer
Luckily it wasn't damaged but what the hell??? I thought they were using the boxes again...

For the past year I have been using Zavvi, I haven't had a problem with them. I was actually surprised when I saw the condition of a few of the Steelbooks here. Does getting the Steelbook in really good condition every time happen to other people or have I been lucky with Zavvi so far?

Careful with that. The last time I returned something I got the email that they received it but then never got the refund. Annoyingly I'd deleted the email and now they claim to have never received it and I won't get a refund.

So yeah, make sure you keep your email.

They can't do that as I do have tracking data confirming receipt in addition to the email
