Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

I think they will and I know I know why. They don't want their customers to have some kind of power and be able to withdraw their payments when they receive damaged goods. They'd rather kick them in an impossible maze of customer anti-service first.
 
Well all my pre-orders are through paypal so they if they cancel them I will be missing out on a lot of steels. I just don't trust zavvi enough to give them my debit card details. I haven't placed orders for 5 steels due to paypal not being available at the moment. roughly £100 they are missing out on there....
 
This company needs to be removed from HDN.

Poor quality control, pathetic service and cancelling orders.

Their attitude is bloody awful. Surely this community can put some pressure on them to change?

I cannot express my disgust without resorting to gutter language.

Just go under your stone Z**** and rot in retailer hell you useless B*******
 
I just wrote them a message about the missing PayPal option and what is going to happen with preorders made with PayPal. Let's see what's coming.

Latest diatribe from Zavvi in a saga to return a Snow White and The Huntsman box set that is really hacked about (box crushed on one side, bent and ripped through on the other - no bloody wonder as they sent it in a thin padded bag!!

I told them straight: I don't have a digital camera.

I am under no obligation in law to send photos.

I am entitled to return the item free of charge.

The item was damaged due to the negligence of your company in sending it out in a padded bag!

I find it incredible that they think they are a law unto themselves, and can demand whatever they wish all in the hope you'll just either give up or cave in and play the game their way - I won't, and I can't!

Bloody annoying to be treated like **** when they get a small fortune from you on a regular basis, and they appreciate you like a hole in the head!

Time to stop that very soon I think!

p.s. How is it we only get this crap from Zavvi?

I got an answer about the PayPal issue:

The Sale of Goods Act 1979 makes it an implied term of the contract that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

Due to [damage] the item is not of satisfactory quality and as such you are in breach of contract.
Therefore I am rejecting the [item] and request that you refund the sum paid to you of [price].

I also require you to confirm whether you will arrange for the [item] to be collected or will reimburse me for the cost of returning it.

My whole order of Indiana Jones Steelbooks 1-4 ( order placed @ March 2013 ) has been canceled. Same CC , Same Address !

Thank you MrBMT for taking the time to construct the sample letter (very nicely done) - Unless I get a satisfactory reply this time that is definitely my course of action.

I've had it up to the ears with Zavvi customer non-service.

Tristar - What was the' problem' they encountered?

And yes, I want my bloody Rewards Points back!!!!
 
I have a load of steels on PO with zavvi (some of which are now sold out) at the weekend I lost my Debit card & now have a replacement card. I've updated my payment details on site & deleted the old payment details.
So my question is: Have I now lost my pre orders?

Most likely. They will tell you to reorder, however, if they are sold out... makes it hard. You will have to hope for cancellations closer yo the release date.

They will only tell you to reorder if you contact them. Easy way around that is - Don't contact them.

@AmarD1981 , you haven't lost your pre orders. A few days (normally the Tue/Wed) before release you'll get a "'Payment problem" email. This is Zavvi giving you an opportunity to update your payment details. Annoyingly you'll have to do it with each of your pre orders made on your old card.

Here is the email you'll receive when your payment fails:

Don't contact them, just update your payment details.

I can't find Zavvi.es so I suppose I can write here,
I tried to place an order a couple of days ago, and they charge me € 1.29 for standard airmail for order (1 or 5 titles its the same),
so I ask why, I did many order from zavvi.com and zavvi.es and I've never paid for shipping, I just get a reply
"Free shipping is only for Spain customers" (I'm from Italy)
Their policies tells different...
