I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

On the plus side they are releasing a lot of movies in steelbook form. On the minus, customer service is poor (OK, being honest, it's rubbish)

Could someone here please confirm that the pre-order price for Rambo: First Blood (Zavvi exclusive Steelbook) was £14.99 and not £19.99? (btw, there's a reason why I'm not posting this in the Rambo thread)

yes, got my pre-order in for £14,99, few days later it changed to £19,99

The reason I asked is I pre-ordered on the 5th, and £5 account credit was automatically added to the order. When I checked the order history, the account credit wasn't listed in the order summary fro Rambo but it had been removed from my account credit account. I contacted Zavvi about this as I thought the credit had been removed for no reason. The replied:

"I am sorry that you have been unable to see where this has been used.

However you account does show that this credit has been used on order X to change the price from £19.99 to £14.99. As this credit is being used we are unable to re-add this to your account. "

When I finally checked my order confirmation email, it clearly stated that the account credit had taken the order total from £14.99 to £9.99.

It just bothers me how some of the people from customer service don't seem to check properly what the issue is about, but are just taking a guess. The person probably saw that the current price is £19.99 and just decided that it must have been the price when I pre-ordered it.

Anyway, I thought this might be a website error, that's why I contacted Zavvi. And I didn't want to end up paying full price after having added the £5 credit.

Another reason to hold on to your confirmation emails in case the website tells a different story.

Does Zavvi adjust the prices of items you Pre-ordered if the prices drop to reflect the lowest price like Amazon or are you stuck with the price you Pre-ordered at regardless if the price becomes lower or not?

Yes, they do. If the prices drop after you've placed your order, you pay the lowest price. In theory, at least.

Sums them up to be honest :(

I didn't receive a package of 12 steelbooks from Zavvi.com.

I placed the order on 23 March, they send it on the 24th.

I was still waiting for my steelbooks on the 24th of April, so I contacted them via PayPal (within their 40 day policy). They never responded.

So I contacted them again and this time they did respond. However, the second time I contacted them was outside their 40 day policy and they told me that they couldn't do anything.

Meaning: I have lost my money and won't get my steelbooks from Zavvi.

I ordered the cheap Paramount steelbooks from Zavvi and a few other ones (Mission Impossible 1,2,3, Zulu, War of the Worlds, Cloverfield, Forrest Gump, Black Hawk Down, Demons 1 & 2, Zombieland, Bad Boys and Transformers).

Yes, I did start a PayPal claim. PayPal misunderstood my claim (they thought it was about damaged products, which it was NOT) and they told me to contact the seller. I did, and that was Zavvi's response!

just opened my white star trek steel from zavvi. It's badly dented in the back. Can I do anything about it or should I just chalk it up as a lost cause?

No. Go through the returns process.

So did you end up sorting this out? It's unclear. Print screen the original email for them. Strange this wasn't recorded on their website.

Zavvi package every item in an order seperately. So you're claiming 12 individual boxes got lost in the mail? I'm sure PayPal and Zavvi are finding this hard to believe.

Well, I haven't received them yet.
Maybe it's returned to the post office because I was not home (I was in New York at the time).

And not everything is send separately, I received a box with 10 separate zavvi boxes (I think they were put in that big box at the post office).

So don't know... !

I've got 5 steelbooks on the way from Zavi, there due to start arriving to me here in Texas over the next week,I'll post an update of how it all turns out,I'm praying for no issues.

Since this is a Zavi topic I figured I'd ask here,Is there a way for us the consumer to petition places like Zavi for specific Steelbooks, say like Dredd or others people are interested in?
