Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Zavvi is such a big joke. Their steelbook packaging is crap (compared to Amazon & Play's), their pricing is extremely high, they lie about the print runs and they do reprints. Their customer service sucks aswel.

But this post is not really about the above, this post is about another big fat lie of Zavvi.
I just went to Zavvi.com and guess what I saw on their homepage?

THIS

ofaalj.jpg

The 'standard' 23.99 GBP price. And they call it an OFFER.
Not only do they call it an offer, but they also advertise with it on their homepage, trying to fool people.

This is just beyond pathetic. Even more pathetic than the e-mail we all received saying that it was 'our last chance to buy Jungle Book'. WHAHAHA.

Dude, amazon does this with every movie, not really a strong argument :D

Why don't you just lay off it and post these type of rubbish in the appropriate thread mate.

So, it's not ok for someone to express their opinions when it's negative, but it's ok for you to express your exaggerated, and overly positive opinions?

Why don't you just lay off it and post these type of rubbish in the appropriate thread mate.

He's saying the exact same things you've said in this thread before, but from an opposing point of view, which you don't agree with. So, maybe you should follow your own advice before jumping on someone's case about something you have already been spoken to by several of our members.

Great steel, very reasonable price too, will order as any as I can afford. The artwork is fine as Otis just right. Zavvi doing a fantastic job with all the releases. More please Zavvi more

No con at all, I've ordered 6 for now and will check my finances and may order another 6. Worth every penny and my friends and family will love these. Great looking steel, great price well done Zavvi keep up the good work.

Yawn. Don't you have anything better to do with your time?

I haven't received a single steelbook from Zavvi that has been shipped via the US.

---------- Post added at 05:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:30 PM ----------

I sent photos showing several obvious dents in a steelbook sent in their old cardboard mailer packaging, and they offered to refund £2.

I then sent a complaint email pointing out their obligation under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 to ensure that goods are well protected while they are in transit, and that the delivery company are aware that the goods are fragile. The Act states that if a supplier fails to do this they will be liable for any damage inccurred in transit.

Zavvi then sent me a replacement, in the same type of packaging, that arrived in worse condition than the first one :(

Wow, it's very impressive that they can send it to the US, warehouse it, ship it back, and have it delivered to UK addresses in 4 days!! And that's the average, so even quicker in many cases!! That's less time than it takes for an Amazon.com order to make the journey one way, and less time than it takes for an Amazon.co.uk order to be delivered!! Amazing

Wow really? You know it didn't come via US? Were you tracking it somehow? Amazing

You took the round trip a bit too literally. The steelbooks will have already been sent to their Chicago warehouse before you get any dispatch emails. And I don't understand the sarcastic attitude, this was exposed late last year by a UK newspaper. :alien:

I had to cancel a different steelbook on Zavvi so that I could order something else and it only has a few options/reasons as to why you are cancelling. I think that if Zavvi had a box (like Amazon) where you could write why you were cancelling (price too high, print run) they would get the message a bit better than people (or certain members) flying off the handle on here on EVERY Zavvi thread. It gets tiresome to read.

I didn't need to track it any more than the Guardian journalist did their package, because it's blindingly obvious if it came from America. I suggest you take another look at the link you posted and see if you can work it out.

Sorry if I took your statement about the 4-5 day delivery time too literally. I didn't realise you were being sarcastic.

after reading the last few pages i am feeling incredibly lucky, i have probably received 10-15 steelbooks from Zavvi in the last month and not a single one has been damaged, all were packaged well in boxes with foam.
starting to dread this 'good luck' running out!!!

So, does anyone think well be getting any more Pixar films from Zavvi In the near future?
I'm surprised that they haven't done one for Monsters Inc, similar to how they are doing Thor, to tie in with the release of Monsters University next month.

In regard to the weird customer service and other things I cancelled all my preorders except of one Steelbook that I really need. After I recieve this I will delete my account at Zavvi. Sad because of some nice exclusives but I don't want to support such a dubious business.

Strange one today with Zavvi, they sent me the Amary case version of Foxy Brown instead of the Steelbook. When I try to look for a number or email address to arrange a return I just keep on being sent in circles. Finally found out how to arrange it but it's a bit of a pain, no?

I still don't trust their packaging tbh.

There just isn't enough protection. I'm worried every time I open a package from Zavvi. I wish they would use play.com's packaging.

Trying to place an order on Zavvi to a friend in the UK and now they are requiring a telephone number. I can't place the order without a phone number. That's never happened to me before.

Not really too impressed with the packaging thus far. I think for international shipments, perhaps they should consider more padding/slightly bigger boxes-seems not too much padding for the distance a delicate collectible is traveling/getting tossed around. Hope the rest of my pre-orders arrive ok across the point.

I've had that happen a few times. Sometimes it requires it, other times it doesn't. At one point I thought it was based on the total value, but that has shown to be inconsistent as well.
