Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Question about Zavvi.

I have a order that has 3 of these. I want to cancel 2 of them and keep just one. Anyone have any luck with this. I tired that with Aladdin but got the shaft and they cancelled the whole order. They told me I could cancel and reorder but I explained to them that the item was sold out. Sadly they couldn't figure that out and cancelled it all.

I would like to avoid this happening again but I believe from what I heard that if you have a promo code added you have to cancel everything.

If anything they need to let you cancel items if you have a promo and then that disables the promo code. It isn't that hard to do really. I've lost many items this way.

It seems that they should put an option in place that allows you to cancel 2 of them and retain 1 of them, but with a modified price of "original price". So instead of paying 1/3 of your order (plus .99), you would pay the standard 14.99 (plus .99)

As far as I know, you can't do what I describe above.

As I posted above, I ordered Dick Tracy, The Rocketeer (x2), Starship Troopers and Tron with a discount code. I managed to get them to cancel Dick Tracy, one copy of The Rocketeer and Starship Troopers without any problems. I received dispatch emails for The Rocketeer and Tron yesterday and I was charged the discounted prices, so it seems everything worked out just fine. The exact message I sent was (I had already asked them to cancel Starship Troopers previously):
Please cancel Dick Tracy and ONE copy of The Rocketeer as I have changed my mind on these.

Please leave the orders for ONE copy of The Rocketeer and Tron as they are.

Use this method:
Find the relevant order in your account section. Click 'view' and then click 'query'. At the next page don't tick the items in question and choose 'I want to cancel my order' followed by 'I want to cancel an item from my order' (which would seem the most appropriate option). Instead choose 'I have a problem with my order' followed by 'Other order problem'. You will then get a message box and you can explicitly state exactly which items you want to cancel.

I have the same code, it doesn't work on the pre-orders I've tried. But it does work on the couple of steelbook that have already been released, that I've tried.

Actually just found out it works on Only God Forgives and Elysium Steelbooks
 
I recently just moved from my parents house and I still have my steelbooks sent there because I've had such good luck with them being sent there (Knock on Wood) and don't want to jinx it with the new packaging
 
Well I'm moving house next Friday so I've just contacted Zavvi asking if I can amend my current orders to show the new address.

They've told me that they can't do this because of security reasons?! :wtf:??!?! Amazon, Play, Kimch..... ****, practically everyone else you can change your address!!! They also said I can cancel and re-order.... yeah that's great so I lose the discount codes that I've used.

^^ That means nothing. The vast majority of zavvi customers aren't moving house, so your personal experience is like a 1 in 10,000 negative experience, which dosent matter from a immoral/legal accountant's perspective.

Hope so. Needs to calm down a bit doesn it?

Maybe they've run out of space in their warehouse due to a lot not selling out. :D
 
So I've had The Rocketeer on pre-order since the second it was announced. So long ago that I forgot my credit card had changed.

They tried to process it, couldn't, and sent me an email to change payment method.

I put the new card in.

It said processing for the last few days, and then today I get an email saying they cancelled my order.

So it was partly my fault, but I'd done with Zavvi and steelbooks. It's not worth the hassle.

I preordered The Sixth Sense and used some of my 'Rewardz Points' against the cost.

I got a despatch email a few days ago stating the FULL Steelbook price in it.

No problem, I thought, 'it's just a generic email'.

Wrong! They've only gone and charged my card the FULL price. So using my Rewardz points was useless. Now I've had to email them and go fighting for a few Euros discount that I was perfectly entitled to.

Aaarrgghhhh! Why is every minute thing a struggle with Zavvi??!! :angry:

Ok! any idea what is going on?? I ordered Tron, Rocketeer, and Dick Tracy. Now there is no record of this in my order history, but all the money for these was charged to my credit card? I sent them off an email, but no word. Am I getting ripped off here ??
