Pocahontas and The Rescuers still showing a release date of August 11th.

So far, I've only been charged for The Aristocats & Hunchback though. Curious to see if they get pushed back or not. I'm fully expecting that they will, however nothing has been mentioned yet. I guess we'll see...

I do wonder how long it'll be until we get films like Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White steelbooks. I honestly though we'd get Sleeping Beauty when Maleficent released in the cinema to tie in with that. This year is The Lion King's 20th anniversary so I won't be surprised if we get a re-release and possible steelbook nearer the end of the year. Snow White will probably be a later one, with a theme of "ending at the beginning" (although not actually ending the steelbook line). No clue about Beauty and the Beast though although Amazon UK has a new listing for a BatB Blu-Ray so maybe that's getting a re-release with a possible steelbook soon.

Well first they'll want to max out the sales of the normal blu ray as much as they can, then they'll go into a steelbook. I can see a Snow White and a Sleeping Beauty steel happening before the year's end.

Almost certain they'll give A Christmas Carol 3D a steel for Xmas too.... XD

All 4 are listed under 'Out Monday - Now Shipping' section, so I guess they are all being released on Monday. Man, that's gonna take a bite outta my wallet :)

Any word on the releasedate of the other two?
With Lion King and Snow White coming too, it looks as Zavvi continues to release 3 or 4 each month... pretty sick!!

Yes, they don't force me to buy them, but... when you want to collect them all, you are kinda forced.
And... Disney is not the only one with steels I like!

Actually the normal Retail rerelease of Lion King on blu ray won't be released till November 10th, so the steelbook won't be coming before then.

So which title will sell out first ?

Lion King v Snow White

I think it will be the lion king, surprised both are coming out at the same time.

It doesn't look like we'll be getting the rescuers this week after all - only Pocahontas is in the shipping Monday section, and the rescuers no longer has a release date attached to it , it just states 'pre-order now' I'm not complaint though, Pocahontas will be enough :)

MY TOP 5 DISNEY STEELBOOKS SO FAR (UK)

Bambi
Pinocchio
Wreck-It-Ralph
Mulan
Robin Hood

MY 10 MOST WANTED DISNEY STEELBOOKS (UK)

Atlantis: The Lost Empire
The Emperor's New Groove
The Great Mouse Detective
Sleeping Beauty
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
The Sword in the Stone
Tarzan
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Oliver & Company
The Black Cauldron

Atlantis and Emperor's New Groove would be perfect steelbooks because of their art style if they base it on the UK DVD collector's editions. Hercules also has an art style that could look pretty good on a steelbook, especially the Atlantis emblem in the centre (and no title).

ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE
61bZgaotqWL.jpg

Embossed bolts, borders and bubbles with a blue brushed metallic finish. Embossed Atlantis symbol in the centre with silver finish. You may love or hate the film, but there's no denying that this would make a killer steelbook.
THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE

Would be cool with a nice relief (emboss/deboss) effect and gold finish

I'm guessing the sword in the stone, Oliver & company, sleeping beauty & Tarzan will be the next to be announced - loads of the those, not released on Steelbook yet aren't available on Blu Ray within the U.K so I'm guessing we will get those 4 next with perhaps a later title of Tangled or The Princess & The Frog.
