Hi All,

It looks like our former thread has become unavailable, so I am posting a new one. Feel free to post pics and share your worst experiences with damaged Steelbooks as received from retailers. I've stickied this one for now.

Thanks,
DB

I have a question, few weeks ago I bought this Steelbook sealed, but when I opened it I noticed it has a strange line on the left side of front cover and just right side of the spine.

Here are some pictures of it:

Now is there supposed to be a line like that, or is it just a dent from production or poor preserving? I paid alot of money for this Steelbook and I hate to think if that really is a big ****ing dent there. And that line covers the whole height of the Steelbook, sorry about the crappy photos.

I have a feeling the Pud master could fix this!

Pud told me some of his tricks, and while they seemed simple enough I botched it up badly (and most know I'm pretty handy on these forums from what all I have created custom etc).... Some of his before and after pics of dented steels he has fixed is absolutely mind boggling.

I dont know if he has fixed any that have outward dents but I suppose with a soft thin object on top of the front and applied he could possibly do the same.

Pud has helped me out with a steelbook with an outward dent and the finish product was pretty impressive. With his permission I can post some before and after photos for you guys (just have to dig it up at home) to see this man's marvelous workmanship. :scat:

Some of the simplest damage is the hardest to fix. This outward crease is compounded by being closer to the edge which makes it harder to manipulate. Add to that the matt finish which is very easily marked and that all adds up to a very difficult job.

Some have big ugly looking dents and as long as the paint is not broken they fix really well, just ask Malky to tell you the Batman story his face was a picture.

As for outward dents yes I have worked on them with a fair success rate. Last one I done with out ward dents was Kill Bill for Munstars if your lucky he might have some before and after pics, coincidently Munstars also owns the steel with the most ever damage I have seen EEK! ask him nicely he might show you.
Thanks for the votes of confidence guy's

Just got 8 Mile (Dutch steel) and its immaculate... Bar a 6cm (est) scratch on the rear top. Gutted!
It was under the info card to the seller had no way of knowing (item was sealed)

Any way of fixing this?
Could the mystical Pud be of aid?

Sorry mate, don't do scratches

This is about 2 weeks old now but this is what Royal Mail did to a steel I sold recently.

Already sent off for a claim as I'm out of pocket badly on this. No way this should have been damaged unless someone stood on it although to me it looks like it's been twisted somehow.

EEK! looks like it's been run over by one of the mindless Royal Mail vans. I can't bare to look at this. Reminds me of a Bugatti Veryon that got smashed up doing over 100mph. Royal Mail, Royal Maniacs more like..
