Hi All,

It looks like our former thread has become unavailable, so I am posting a new one. Feel free to post pics and share your worst experiences with damaged Steelbooks as received from retailers. I've stickied this one for now.

Thanks,
DB

Opened a case, how long do you usually have to wait for a refund?

Not sure on that one. As malky said insurance in UK would be difficult as it's usually based on it's cost when new not it's value now in "an open market". Once again all the very best with your claim but I believe PP is better option.

Man, that is painful to see. :(

yep, you learn.

I ALWAYS ask the seller if he/she is going to send it inside a cardboard box. 50% of the time, they said no unless I pay more. So what...I pay more...

If anything it's taught me to specify how I want it packed before buying, I just assumed they knew how to pack it with it being so valuable. So glad I paid for insurance now though.

He definitely knew the value of it. Look at the auction it even states 'I will make sure that i ship this item with extra extra care - so it gets to you in perfect condition' :hilarious: :hilarious:

All happy as I finally got my Iron Man FS, BUT look at the packaging:

It was meant to be mint, but there's faint little scratches everywhere too. Needless to say im very annoyed. Luckily he insured the package so I expect all my money back.

Unbelievable! Those pictures make me cringe. It's an abomination that someone would send an Iron Man in a flimsy envelope.

Man that sucks hard, if you end up scrapping it ... I'd buy "the spine" however there is one person here who can make pretty good magic happen ... he wont be able to do much for the spine .... but its PUD ... you should see his before and after pics.

But I guess u will return for refund so doesnt matter.

Bert did a bang up job with the bubble wrap. It's whatever destroyed that box that did it in. That needed a blessing from god to survive that damage. I have never seen an entire package of steelbooks that damaged before. Craziness.:(

che, that's just horrible, wouldn't wish that on anyone...

yeah the tone of your voice is just so disheartening... hope you get it all worked out man!

good luck

I agree you should definitely contact Pud. The guy has saved a couple of my dented steelbooks already. Bringing them back to life with his "magic hands" ;)

Thanks everyone, Case is opened so hopefully the seller understands & refunds accordingly.

I hope eBay/Paypal just take the money from the moron and refund you immediately, that way he's not got the proceeds of the sale while you have to fight for reimburement from insurance... and he's also lost the very thing that got him those funds.

Would serve him right for being such a plank and packaging it like that just to save a couple of quid.

And breathe.... :emb:
