Per Firstshowing:
Earlier this month we heard Lethal Weapon writer and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black was in contention to helm Iron Man 3, the next installment in the lucrative comic book sequel. While his directing the project was far from a sure thing at the time, apparently Marvel likes what Black is bringing to the table and Deadline reports the filmmaker is currently in final negotiations to direct the blockbuster sequel. Though initially it was said that Black would also write the script, apparently the details remains to be confirmed. But considering how well Black worked with Robert Downey Jr. in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I have high hopes.

Of course, there's a bit of a concern since the only film in Black's filmography is the aforementioned dark noir comedy, but Jon Favreau hadn't directed any action tentpoles either before taking on Iron Man. There's still no news on when Iron Man 3 may start production, and a release date isn't being set prematurely either, so it's unclear how soon Black will begin working for Marvel. Right now he's working on Doc Savage for Sony and he was recently linked to an American adaptation of the Japanese manga series Death Note. Even with those projects in line, this will undoubtedly be Black's biggest project to date.

I wonder how well this movie will perform in the U.S. considering Regal, AMC, and Cinemark have stopped selling advance tickets. It's been reported that Regal has gone so far as to pull all of their marketing materials such as posters from their theaters. Apparently there's a dispute between Disney and the movie theaters over box office revenue. :dunno:

Arent most studios getting 70/30 revenue already? Just a base assumption of mine, but I was under the impression that studios were already getting 3/4 or more of revenue already. Pretty greedy if u ask me and if theaters allow studios to push them around they'll just set a standard that every time a new blockbuster comes out a new contract will be renegotiated.

Ultimately any further loss of revenue from theaters will probably only be translated to higher ticket prices.

Saw it this afternoon. I felt it was a bit of a let-down; I was so looking forward to it. I think for me it's the weakest of the 3 and I don't really like how things were wrapped-up at the end.

I expect I'll be in the minority on this though. ;)

I enjoyed it in quite a few places, but this film was still disappointing for me at the same time. Too jokey for a start, with no emotional impact what so ever. It felt like a big step down from the Avengers, and Iron Man 1 is still the best of the trilogy as far as I am concerned.

Mixed feelings about it really, went for an advanced late night IMAX 3D screening yesterday and while I enjoyed most parts of it I somehow found it to be less serious and more comical, especially
the Mandarin's real identity..., kinda ruin it for me, made it a bit anti-climax tbh...
Overall worth a watch but yeah kinda easily forgettable, a lot of you disliked IM2, for me IM2 is a better flick than IM3, but surely IM1 is the best. Oh yeah the 3D was almost non-existent lol

Having said that I can't wait to own it on BD & watch it again :p

Next is MOS, looks promising but then again U never know ;)

Can wait for tonight IMAX 3D (midnight shows were sold out locally), I did a quick read of some comments hope I will like it, my first reaction to announcement was a fast track movie with let down

This film was ok... I think I feel disappointed because they hyped this up and then is was just a ok film. Cool in most areas but just wanted more. After Avengers who would not want more...???
