Ive just noticed this release and i have to say that is such a greedy marketing strategy making all 3 spines match up.

For 3 copies (expensive copies) of the same film are they nuts? Who would want 3 copies of the same movie sat in a line just to make a pointless spine image?

These asian companies have collectors hook, line & sinker

First it was a bit of cardboard with funny writing on for double the price, now its 3 bits of cardboard with a spine image for 6x the price

Whatever floats your boat though i guess

Actually the price is pretty fair. It is pretty close to what I paid for my three versions of these steelbooks separately and I didn't even get the nifty slips or pictures..

However I agree that this is a pretty lame cash grab by blufans and I'll be passing on this one. I expect better from the guys that brought us Oz The Great and Powerful.

I'm glad they do this. The Uk has mostly boring releases just churning out matte steelbooks for the sake of shifting discs which usualy cost a fiver. This is something special, I wish there was more. Only critique I have is hope in the future they do a trilogy of films rather than 3 different covers for the same movie.

If the spine image is pointless, you can argue that art on steelbooks in general are pointless, no? We are all paying more (in most cases) to get something a little more exclusive than your much cheaper plastic amaray.

I agree that it'd be a lot better for an actual trilogy (Jurassic Park, please!), but yeah... many of us were buying or planning to buy one of each anyways, so the added slip covers make a nice bonus. I honestly can't wait to see these on my shelf!

Which us ideal for anyone who has been waiting to pick these up. Yes, they duplicate but honestly if you're not a collector, why are you even looking at these?

I already paid for Art A which is the best looking of the lot and has better finish.

To me it gave me an impression as if the Blufans Steelbook will be superior. This is not entirely true as w.r to Star Trek it is going to be the same Steelbooks in a different packaging. If the Steel had a better finish or unique artwork it could have been much better.

Yeah I know the steel is the same but the extras make it more special. I've only gone for B, I have steels of the other 2. I could have picked up this artwork cheaper elsewhere but I guess I'm just a sucker for blufans.

For me this release isn't about the discs inside, it's the chance to collect all available steelbooks in one place, with extras. Obviously if you already have any of the other releases then this may not be for you. I've already posted I have several others, but am still getting this. TBH I will try and sell it straight on, as I'd rather put the money to some upcoming Disney releases, but I made a commitment to the GB and am sticking to it.

I could say the same for all the steelbooks i dont like or dont want, loads of asian steels with the same art worldwide. People collect slips or something thats a little different when the art is the same world wide. Its limited as a Tripack to 100 and i love star trek so im in, if you dont like it or think its expensive then dont buy it. Its cheaper than iron man futureshop and i get three steels

Dont get me wrong, i like some of the asian ones with exclusive art on the steels, but the prices are in dreamland and now zavvi are releasing the disneys i cant justify them.

Opinions are opinions, ive seen everyone share theirs about zavvi and matte finishes. Some people dont like matte, does that mean they are being sarcastic and ridiculing to others?
