Ouch.

I mean I'm glad I ordered 5 of them when they were still ??? listings and got a 10% off code, but surly adding Aristocats is a little overkill right? 7 in the space of 2 weeks!

At least delay 1 or 2 of them Zavvi, even just by 1-3 weeks....and no NOT ALICE. ;P

Also, they're gonna have to start mixing the animated ones with a few of the later CGI ones or we could be looking at a fivesome of Dinosaur, Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, Bolt, and I dunno....Planes 2?

Point being, mix and match some of the lesser desired with the most requested. Don't leave the lesser desired all on its own...

I'm pretty shocked Sleepy Beauty hasn't been announced due to the Blu Ray being released soon & Magnificent just being released in cinemas. Oh and off topic but Fantasia, The Little Mermaid, Frozen, Beauty & The Beast and The Lion King all made it in to Empire magazines best 301 movies of all time list.. As well as a few Pixar movies :oohyeah:

Sleeping Beauty is been released on Blu-ray 2 versions but not a Steelbook yet
2 versions been released
Standard Blu-ray and Sleeping Beauty - Disney Villains Limited Artwork Edition Blu-ray

You can expect in the next Disney Steelbook Batch or following Batch
Sleeping Beauty will get a steelbook release could be this year or next year

Lots of potential big releases to get a steelbook as a few are been released from the vault soon

The ocd in me wishes they stuck to a consistent design e.g. all borders or no borders.

I agree, the design is all over the place. Non of them are outright bad, and some of them are gorgeous, it's just no common design traits through them all.

I wish they'd stuck with the Aladdin style right the way through.

Main image
embossed/debossed border
Simple iconic image on the reverse
The same feel of gloss throughout.

It's jumping all over with batches of releases. Very odd decision.

I predict the next 2 batches of Disney releases

Will be from the following

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Sleeping Beauty
The Sword in the Stone
Pocahontas
Tarzan
Atlantis
Lilo and Stitch
Bolt
Tangled
Oliver and Company

Then 2015/2016
Possible if approved and released from UK Vault
The Rescuers
The Black Cauldron
Beauty and the Beast
The Lion King
Fantasia 2000
Basil The Great Mouse Detective

Also possible some Disneytoon Studios titles

Not trying to go off topic but really? Frozen

Of all the films out there....hell of all the Disney/Pixar films which were much better then it. Gee....Frozen is so overrated

Anyway I'm glad these are getting better designs latley

Do we think that so many titles are going to come out in the next month or so ?

The Next batch most likely wont be until August to December or January
They will be spread out

They have been going with 2-3 a month with the previous batches with gaps were some months no releases

Just guessing but I say by the end of the year we should see 3 to 4 more titles released after The Aristocats especially with Christmas market coming and you usually see this happen with lot of releases from October to early December

Wouldn't want too much if a break, but would like Aristocats and one of the other recent lot pushed back, to Aug, with at most one more that same month if need be. Though 3 titles in a month, again, is a tad excessive IMO
Then one per month from then on would be perfect I reckon :)

Also, assuming we'll end up with all the 50+ Classics on steel eventually, which classic list do you reckon we'll follow; US or UK - basically will we get Dinosaur or The Wild. I'd hope/prefer Dinosaur on the US list personally

The Disney Collection is not tied to the Classics it can be other Disney Films except Pixar releases as these have a separate collection
But in terms of the classics it will be the Disney UK Releases only and also for numbering purposes that will follow Disney UK Classics List not the USA List

Where did I say it was restricted to just the classics? I didn't so kindly don't mis-read me.

Plus numbering is irrelevant as Mary Poppin's and Planes we're elevated in Steelbook but neither have numbers or are part of the classic line up.

So my original question of whether we're more likely to get Dinosaur or The Wild (if either) is still quite valid

The Wild is number Classic 46 UK
Dionsaur is not a classic in the UK but is available under Disney in general animated releases
USA only is it a numbered classic

Planes is from Disneytoon studios
Mary Poppins is from Partly Animated Films range

If Dionsaur get released as a Steelbook it wont be a numbered Release

I don't see them releasing the Wild to be honest as a Steelbook

As they all will be Disney UK Releases only and not any release that's vaulted until its made available
I expect to see most of the Big titles get released by next year

I think there's every chance Dinosaur will get a steelbook eventually.

While it may not be an official UK classic, it is popular and I can imagine many people buying it. I open my Disney steelbooks so the numbering is irrelevant as once the J-card is removed (early ones didn't have the number anyway) you can put them in any order you like.

I've seen them displayed in release order, alphabetically and in classics order. While I follow the UK list for DVDs (as they're numbered) I'll follow the US release for steelbooks as they're not.

I am quite happy that Zavvi and Disney have not numbered the steelbooks like the mismatched Amaray UK releases.

They do seem to have mismatched the actual steelbooks themselves

Just caught up with the classics this week and I hope that all the July 7th releases get spread out, which I am sure they will
