Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Delivery option came up that I have never seen before:

International Tracked 17.99

I did some playing around, and up to 5 steelbooks, you can choose standard option or expensive option - Over 5, and it forces you to choose the expensive option

Edit - OK, realised that this info may not be so new for you guys afterall , looking back, I had never ordered over 5 previously anyway, so would not have seen it

dont want to burst everyones bubble (pardon the pun) but i received lady snowblood today from zavvi no longer in a crappy card envelope but in an even crappier bubble envelope if this is there new packaging i think they will be getting lots of returns although this steel was perfect

Same for me, I heard the thunk as it hit my wooden floor when it came in the post yesterday. My first thoughts were that I hoped there wasn't a steelbook in that!

Zavvi cs is the worst!! it took me sending them an e-mail for them to send me an e-mail saying they will send out my replacement steelbook...been waiting since 26th feb.

Last time I placed 1 order which contained the following Steelbooks:
Die Hard with a Vengeance, Armageddon, Con Air, and Black Hawk Down.

They Shipped each separately in very lousy packages but luckily they all arrived in one piece.

Hopefully their packaging is improved (as promised with the WFRR release) by the time the Indiana steels are out.

Zavvi related question

When I pre-ordered the Indy steels from Zavvi, after checking out, I got a message that you could get a 15GBP discount coupon if you signed up for another site which gives you monthly details about discounts, I believe.

You have to pay to be a member of this other site (10 GBP per month), but you can get it free for 30 days, then cancel and pay nothing and you still get the Zavvi coupon.

Problem is (I think) that you have to make a Zavvi order, pay full price, then mail the coupon in and wait for a rebate cheque/money order.

I am in Canada - wondering if anyone in Canada has done this, does it work, will you actually get the money? I'd love to get a 15GBP discount on another order from Zavvi, but I suspect that being in Canada I am probably out of luck, or there is some unknown hoops I would need to jump thru.

Be careful when clicking on these promotions that appear after placing the Order. You might simply click without reading the terms and conditions and may inadvertently authorize the merchant to take money out of your card monthly if you didn't deal with them wthin a stipulated period.

Yep be aware that they get you to sign up and then hope you forget to cancel. Thats how they make their money.

Fair point. I've clicked to read the terms (they have this on The Hut.com as well), but never clicked through. Sounds "too good" - think I'll just stay away from it. Thanks.

im really pissed about zavvi right now..they want to give me 4pound refund for 2 dented steelbooks, send them back that i want a replacement and 4pounds for 2 damaged steels is not acceptable. now they telling me i have to pay the shipping costs if i want a replacement ( that will be probably damaged as well since the packaging isn't improved). what the hell man?

Yeah, I opted to keep a dented Black Hawk Down and got a 3 GBP credit to my account. Based on Wreck's recent update, hopefully their packaging is getting better as we speak to avoid more of this.

Guys I have a new update ....

MAJOR NEWS ... so read carefully!

Orders should be packed separately in their own box. Still on for Roger Rabbit, both product and packaging are now in the warehouse and think we will start working on despatching tomorrow.

For clarity, all new releases will be shipped in the new packaging. We have multiple warehouses and most of our current stock sits in another location to where Roger Rabbit is. All future stock brought will also go to the Roger Rabbit warehouse, but there will be a period of time where we sell through current stock that will not be shipped in the new packaging, which is unfortunately unavoidable.

So what this means is that if you order Roger Rabbit and Black Hawk Down (for example) that you could get Roger Rabbit in good packaging and Black Hawk in crappy packaging due to where the items are located and all the new packaging be shipped to just the one future steelbook warehouse.

Great news. Wish every Steelbook were in the Roger Rabbit warehouse.

I really really hope that Zavvi uses the same packaging as play with their name on it.

That indeed is great news about WFRR! Worried for my Life of Pi though will it survive the long journey to India or am I going to find it like a shipwreck
