Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

buying extra copies for group buys trade or resell has become a risky business, i would imagine, with regards to steelbooks from zavvi. do people buy extra copies to help out others at the risk of receiving them back from people because they're damaged?
also, why should buyers have to provide photographic evidence of damage before having problems resolved?? if it's damaged, it's damaged, that's all there is to it. amazon's customer service wipes the floor with zavvi's, which is why i'll favour the former in future..

I am a bit concerned as may be moving house. I have some steels on pre-order with Zavvi and I'm a bit confused. It appears that you cannot amend your address on existing orders. Does this mean I have to cancel them and loose out on "sold out" items or can you message them and they will amend your existing pre-orders (then wait the usual game of ping pong with messages to find if they actually read your message correctly) !!

I am in the same boat. It was answered a while ago that Zavvi doesn't let you change address on existing orders :(

Isn't it supposed to be against the law to advertise things as being on sale, when they're the same price they were before the sale started?

Because I'm pretty tired of being spammed with OMG HUGE FLASH SALE emails by Zavvi, only to find the steelbooks at the same price they've been for weeks, if not higher. This must be the third time this month.

Ah yes...much like their recent 24-hour sale that lasted at least 1, if not 2 weeks, if I'm mistaken.

Very interesting marketing tactics, indeed...

It's frustrating, all I can advise is that you redirect your post so the steelbooks reach you after you move.

Zavvi have continued to frustrate me lately. Today I ordered four steelbooks with a discount code and straight after realised I wanted to cancel my order, a minute after (seriously, no longer than a minute after ordering) I requested to cancel my entire order, so Zavvi only managed to cancel one steelbook and the other three they claimed they were unable to. Absolutely cheesed off, now going to have to return all three of these for a mistake that should've been easily resolved. Thanks a lot Zavvi, useless lot, makes me question why I still use them.

They clearly lied about being unable to do that considering I ordered after 8pm and they don't dispatch till after 9am the next morning. I guess I'll be using eBay to order my exclusives, I'm done with this madness.

I wish they'd wise up so I won't have to keep complaining 24/7 about their shoddy service.

no mate. it's your fault for ordering them. and you make it out like returning stuff is such a bother, you can return for free. this is your mistake if you didn't want them then maybe you should of thought harder about if you wanted them or not.

I wouldn't be ordering with them if there was any decent competition. I've had this debate before, and always get the same response but I need to feed my addiction :p and I made a mistake, wanted to cancel and it backfired.

Have never had to cancel a non pre-order before so never realised they operated by such a ridiculous system. Can't cancel? Why even tease with bearing the option to do so? I've been a customer to many retailers and never have experienced service this bad before. Call me a hypocrite but I'll still be keeping my pre-orders as there is no where else I can secure the things I want. Returning is no bother at all, but still it's unwanted and unnecessary.

Since Zavvi's first exclusive release - Who Framed Roger Rabbit, there have been 99 releases in total not counting pre-orders as at 19th April 2014

The following graphs represent the original release price vs the current value (price) taking into account price drops if still for sale on Zavvi or the mean across the last 3 sales on ebay UK

Notes:
1. The original price does not take into account any discount vouchers or special offers that could have been used at the time of purchase
2. Only the last 3 sales as of April 2014 have been used for the calculation of values to indicate what it would cost today to purchase exactly the same new sealed item
3. Postage costs have not been included
4. No conclusion is inferred from the above information - This should be interpreted from each viewer of the data

Lot of effort you put into that and done well but for what real purpose
Show me the comparison between HMV Amazon Zavvi for a same title
As these are Authorized Retail Shops selling a product a studio supplies them to sell

ebay is not a Retail Online Shop and is mostly private sellers out to sell at crazy prices especially with steelbooks and in reality not even meant to be selling unless they are an authorized re seller but Retail shops don't bother doing anything about and to difficult to stop

I buy something from Zavvi or Amazon at Full Price a Pre Order I pay Full Price or less if I have a discount code or use discount points I earned with a retailer
A few weeks or months later a steelbook I like is reduced in price I purchase as its cheaper that's how a retail shop works and how customers spend their hard earned cash

Sometimes it will be very cheap and in fact be less than what the retailer paid (Sold at a loss) but they would have made a original profit on majority of the previous sold stock
Retail you buy in bulk and make your profit when you have sold a % of your stock at full price and if your lucky you have a sold out release and make maximum profit
When you have stock not selling out you reduced it to clear your stock level that's how retail business works

Comparing what the value of a title is on ebay now to Zavvi Original Full Price is waste of time as all Retail products end up at reduced price at some stage

ebay is not a Retail Shop but private sellers trying to inflate the price of a product and sell it at a crazy profit especially with Steelbooks

Some people collect Steelbook thinking their making an investment
Steelbooks are Blu-ray films with nice packaging but a few end up as collectors items and even then at a later stage they end up worthless as something else becomes more sort after

What a Retail Shop sells a product for and what price it sells for on ebay is of no use unless your a seller on ebay not happy you bought in bulk and its not selling well for you welcome to the world of Retail

I hope I have not caused any offence with this post but its reality in my opinion

First of all please read Note 4.

I am not trying to prove any point
It is purely for the purpose of data analytics

What you have commented is your opinion and that is fine

Bought the Toy Story Trilogy steels from Zavvi.nl.
Receive them "fast" but unfortunately, TS1 had a minor ding on front. Since TS are in my favorite of all time and that those 3 steels weren't cheap, NO WAY I would accept a single defect on those.

I emailed them and they offered me the usual 10% refund. I told them NO ***** way. They sent me a replacement for free. :)

Thanks Zavvi for understanding!

Zavvi is acting retarded again:

---
2516 Rewardz Earned

2516 Rewardz Points Earned From Orders

0 Rewardz Points Earned From Referrals

1398 Rewardz Points Spent

---

Where are my other rewardz points? I should have 1118 more, but order page says ''0 Rewardz Points''.

Also, Zavvi's system is retarded.

It registers 100 Rewardz Points = 1 GBP.
But 100 Rewardz Points = 0.82 Euros (cents).

It should be 100 Rewardz Points = 1.21 Euros since 1 GBP = 1.21 Euros (GBP is stronger than the Euro).

So now people lose +/- 0.40 Euros per 100 Rewardz.

Might not look like much, but hey, they spend 100 Euros to get that damn 1 GBP off, and when they finally have the 100 Rewardz points, they don't get what was promised :p .

That happens to me sometimes. Logging out and then logging back in works or if you go to your account page enter your account number e.g. ZV5635893 copy and paste it into the discount code box. Once it happened to me and for some bizarre reason this little trick made the points magically reappear.

Or ignore all that and wait until it sorts itself out :hilarious:

Hey berns -- There's also a GB being hosted by Naughtius Maximus for people that couldn't order from Zavvi, or missed out on pre-orders.

Hopefully, a viable option for you.

Here's the GB thread:
