I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

I would like to say a few good words about zavvi. I have made about 10 orders from them so far and never had any problem. Shipping was fast (it about 4-5 days to Croatia) and never had any damage problem. I used free shipping option every time.
Definitely recommending zavvi.

so is quite a bad transfer @CasuallyDressed on the uk one then?
if so glad i'd passed on this

so according @Scary Hair post the others don't have 3d and 2d on one disc thats nice to know i wonder if they have a better transfer as a result?

Mate, it's bloody awful. DVD looks better. By far the worst blu I have (currently got the amaray).
It's also caused record number of complaints to Trading Standards. Had a 2 hour meeting with them this afternoon. Half of which was on Zavvi and some of their actually illegal practices. TS know all about them.
Are you allowed to divulge anything?

You see, I've become nonchalant towards these practises. I always remember that time when customers got their own back by not sending back the PS Vitas which were accidentally shipped out free of charge - Zavvi threatened to take them to court (the people not the Vitas ;)). Ethics are involved only when it's them on the receiving end.

Edit: Sorry @digitalbabe just posted this.

Some of what they do is unethical but then loads of retailers are, that's not illegal, but they have broken the law a few times recently, and it hasn't gone unnoticed.

That said personally I've only ever had one damaged steel from them, and found them adequate for what they do. I only use them though when I have no other option available to me.

The Dredd fiasco has left a sour taste in people's mouths. The price was hiked by them because they watch these forums, all other EiV titles are under £20. Then sayings it's sold out within an hour but available with their zBox has resulted in a lot of complaints across the net.

As others have mentioned already the only way they will listen is when customers don't buy. Simples!

How long is it before Zavvi announce a steelbook of a movie that doesn't even exist? It seems they can announce exclusive steelbooks of movies that have just been released in the cinema or ones that haven't even gotten that far with no problems. Madness.

so sorry to hear, seems like the steel damage is not so bad if you have to look at certain angle to see it, even with My OCD I would live with it and Lenti scratches those are always possible...but again I'm sorry you didn't get a perfect copy from your purchase on the secondary market...but he probably could not tell being all shrinked wrapped... for zavvi this is always terror when ordering from them :blackeye: ...but you being in the UK if still in stock replacement should be easy.

Zavvi will offer 10% off as usual ... but it's already at £8.99 today. I paid £9.99 just 48 hours ago. Pathetic isn't it.

So sick of Zavvi. They can easily be the best of the best but they just don't care.

I know reason why I only buy when absolutely necessary...but I know how frustrating it is...

I've only had positive experiences with Zavvi. I'm surprised the steels make it to the US in just that white box generally with no issues.

I've placed a number of orders but I did have two steels damaged. The first one they replaced right away. The second one required a little more back and forth but ultimately that one was replaced too. The responses were professional and polite and the responses were timely.

Another crappy customer service experience with them

As people might have seen my recent Marvel Z Box came damaged and was missing the Pop! Vinyl Figure and the comic....so I decided to contact Zavvi thinking they could easily send me a figure/comic out to me as I wasn't really bothered about the box.

After sending them photos like they had requested and telling them all I was missing was those two items the next message I get is an automated "Returns Form" for a refund. I mean they've never appoligized or anything and instead of just sending me a full on REPLACEMENT or even just the two missing items (the Pop! Vinyl Figures which they have a **** load on their site) they decided "Oh well....refund"

I mean it's a little disrespectful when they seem to just brush you aside and go straight to the refund solution. The whole point I pre ordered it was because I wanted it, now because of something which wasn't my fault the only apparent solution is to refund me and that's that.

Once again it doesn't bloody help that you get replies from different people.

You'd like they would also offer an apology, not an automated response and give me a little compensation.

I've just sent this to digitalbabe regarding Zavvi...let's hope a response is forthcoming!!!!

"digitalbabe....you seem to be in the know with a lot of Zavvi stuff!!! Go and have a look at the threads regarding the current price drops for Wall-E & Ratatouille....maybe as one of the mods here you can explain Zavvi's stance on WHY both those steelbooks were put back in stock and on sale at £19-99!!!! £5 cheaper than loyal customers who pre-ordered in the possibility that these Pixar steelbooks would genuinely sell out!!! All i can say is that Zavvi don't care about shafting their loyal customers and there is a growing tide of resentment towards their business practices!!! I/We here would LOVE some informative feedback!!!"

I live in hope!!!!

I think this be because amazon.de had the exclusive rghts to sell in Germany? I'm sure I've seen this happen before.

I think it has to do with the film not being released in Germany yet and zavvi is not allowed to ship it here. I also couldn't get it from zavvi.nl or zavvi.es and it obviously wasn't even available on zavvi.de. Ah well, I'll try and wait for the German one to get back in stock...

I really hate Zavvi at the moment... It really seems like stuff is getting worse and worse every month.

Thing 1: I had a damages steelbook of 500 days of Summer. I send it back to them for a replacement copy (after a lot of emails). I send it back, and because I live in the Netherlands sending it back without track and trace would cost me €5,75 while with track and trace it would cost me €11,00... Money I need to pay out of my own pocket because Zavvi does not pay the shipping costs back to them. The Steelbook was €13,00 or €15,00 so I did not want to spend €11,00 on shipping. Now 2 weeks later, still no email from them. I asked if they already got it, and they replayed with: no, provide a track-and trace. Because I don't have this I probably lost my money now. And I know its not a hard fact, but I would not be surprised if they received it, but just did not registered it when it came back to them.......

Thing 2: yesterday I ordered 2 Pixal steelbooks and payed €50,00. When I payed via banktransfer, I got back to the zavvi site and I got an error that the order could not be placed. The order also does not show up in my account. BUT the €50,00 is transferred to them! Already send them 2 e-mails, but without any replay so far.
