Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Don't know if anyone is bothered but remember when I had that Z Box issue in May with the Marvel one....how I received it damaged and it was missing a vinyl and comic

Well last month they sent me a vinyl....it was the wrong one and was so badly damaged it had to be binned.

Told them, they didn't seem to care.

They then sent me the FILM magazine instead of the comic. Told them, generic apology and yet still nothing.

Just asked them recently where my stuff was and they told me the "Steelbook included has not been released yet". Yeah they thought I was going on about something else. Didn't even read the message I sent them.

So basically three months on I still haven't gotten my items. They've now said I can get a full refund or I can continue to wait. I'm unsure what to do. I've been trying to argue to them that I would at least want the Vinyl but then they'd said I'd only get a very small refund ¬¬

I hate them....I really do.

Anyway....Holy **** that "What is a Steelbook" page Zavvi has done is bloody hilarious

On how they select artwork

"There have been occasions where we have decided not to produce a SteelBook version of a film solely due to the lack of solid artwork"

REALLY? I mean bloody really? How many films which are amazing and we've been dying for them to release a Steelbook of only for them to pick **** artwork whether it's because the art is bland, boring or it feels rushed. Hell there are more mock ups on here by users who create better artwork then what they sign off on. Even ones which look alright could be better, the Star Wars ones for example, they look great but there's certain things here and there which make them look silly (Yoda being the only good guy on them instead of Count Dooku) or even the Rouge Cut of Days of Future Past....same artwork as the normal release except with a colour change. So that line right there is a bullshit lie.

What they've basically revealed is that even though they don't design the artwork, they are now saying they can say "No" to studios if the artwork is bad. In other words they could easily turn around and say "No...HOWEVER if you change it we'll think about it as fan feedback is not going down well".

I'm seeing a lot of talk about Scanavo aswell and how they are the ones to go back and forth with the studios regarding artwork and designs. Surely Zavvi should be getting more involved with them because it's like if Scanavo decide X, Y and Z, things which fans won't like Zavvi are stuck with those choices. In a way if Zavvi can interact with this site for example and ask us for our input first they could send it to Scanavo, so they will send it to the studio as their recommendations

So yeah, I see a lot of bullshit in that page.

If they interacted with us more and had some polls going where we could vote then more people would glady pay full price for a steel .

This is awesome! It's cool that a big retailer involved with steelbooks awknowledges HDN. Always interesting in regards to the production process as well. Props to Zavvi. Thanks for sharing @luke98.

I thought the discounts would be universal across all Zavvi websites as it's the same product as the UK release.

Unlike Amazon UK, FR, IT, DE etc where the item is usually repackaged with the native language etc.

It's not a dump question. It's stupid to think a UK company can't do a better offer outside of UK. Should we cry when we pay customs on top of UK orders? I pay 19 % more on everything over 22 EUR only from zavvi because they decided to be on a island

com, de and es got different discount offers since they open. But when com reduce the price itself it goes down on all sites. And Grindhouse was part at de of the 25 % deal but with 18 EUR +
So when com reduced the price for UK the better offer was made for de. But I think it was without knowing. 10,40 EUR is really cheap and till now I don't got a shipping mail.

They have been bad to me but I did something about it and made sure they didn't walk over me and send me out items with a locked account and think it's fine to and not answer any questions or accept returns/ refunds or replacements. and you mentioned this in the other thread so I'll say what I said again...
Unfortunately they sell some products I want but because of their usless CS and bullsh*t replies and lies and the way they deal with things like this I've massively cut down. But I'm not biting at this or the iron man bundle until they are made to purchase separately

I also don't own an iron man and would like this new one but £25 for steelbook thats a 8 year old film is ridicolous and that is not a bargain even if it has more than one disc and lenti cover. My age of ultron steel with a 3d disc which is a brand new film cost much cheaper than that with the marvel bundle. If it turns up!

I've not slagged anyone off by the way except Zavvi. "




And I'm looking forward to seeing what film it will be just sick of zavvis antics with zboxes

I posted this in the Cap/ZBOX thread, but just thought I'd post here too as feedback and action by Zavvi seems really poor.

Whoever works for Zavvi here, do you have monthly meetings or feedback to the store from here? As nothing seems to get better, just gradually worse and worse.

Zavvi management: "So, how's the feedback about us going, on HDN?"
Zavvi HDN member: "Oh, erm, it's great. We're doing an awesome job. They all particularly love all our more sort after steels being bundled with the ZBOX merch that we haven't been able to shift the last 12 months. They even loved T2"

Argh, why do Zavvi occasionally use those brown mailers!!! I received my The English Patient steel this week, all mint and good, but today I got a goddamn brown mailer with an extremely limited bent edition of Nikita inside it. I hate having to deal with their customer service.
