I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Just a big big appreciation to Zavvi for all the fantastic releases they are doing. Makes collecting fun, affordable and above all interesting. Briiliant service too. I know a lot of people are moaning about the Zavvi but my experience has always been good. Great steelbooks and great pricing well done Zavvi keep up all the hard work.

although they need to pause and stop for a bit, the amount of steels coming out is a joke right now. Any old sh1tty movie is becoming a steelbook, btw you either work for zavvi or your smoking some real hard stuff lol :naughty:

This may be genuine, and maybe not, but you might wanna ease up on these types of posts until you establish a bit more of a name for yourself around here. It's up to you, but seems fishy to say the least.

hey mate I don't mean to worry you but with my last experience from zavvi if they don't accept your steelbooks for whatever reason in the warehouse they don't get back to you to let you know, I'm not saying they haven't accepted yours but if you don't hear anything in the next few days it might be best to contact them, I sent 4 damaged steels back in a box and I received a refund for 2 after roughly 5 or 6 days and they never even let me know about the other 2 I had to contact them to then find out my steelbooks had not been accepted, I'm currently trying to get this sorted out with them, just thought I would let you know;)

Thanks mate, I think i better contact them and see what's happening.

Here's some back and forth from this morning. I sent this in after ordering 3 copies of IM3.

Now, here's my request. I would greatly, greatly appreciate it if your shipping department would take extra care when packaging these items. I am a serious collector, and i would really hate to see them arrive in poor condition. I know your shipping costs aren't expensive, at all - but please make sure the items are well packed.

With Regards,

Hello XXXXX,

Thank you for placing this order with us. Much as we hope that all our orders arrive in perfect condition, we have no influence in how items are packaged and are aware that items even though leaving our premises in good condition, sometimes don't always arrive in a good condition particularly if sent over great distances and/or mishandled by the post operatives.

If you have any other queries please let us know.

Kind regards, XXXXX.

I don't know how many steelbooks you have ordered from zavvi so far, but I can feel how satisfied you are about their services, prices, etc.

I was exactly like you when I first found zavvi. They were selling some of play.com exclusive steelbooks at a reasonable price and shipping outside of the UK at 0.99! I was worshiping them and blaming Amazon for not being like zavvi, but things changed when I had some issues with my orders and tried to contact their customer services. Like many members, I have been through so many stupid things with zavvi and really don't want to reiterate any of them again here.

Now I gave up and decided not to contact zavvi any more even if I receive damaged steelbooks (Yes, I still order from zavvi). As someone said it was very painful to communicate with them and peace of mind is much more important to me than a few quids of saving.

I hope all of your steelbooks arrive unscathed, but please note that we are talking about poor quality of zavvi's services for reason.

Well it's very genuine thanks, and I hate fish. You seem pretty new yourself so can't see as your in any position to judge. Just showing some genuine appreciation, nothing else intended. I'm truly excited about the amount of steels coming out, I thought that's what this site was for, well guess I was wrong. Sorry if I've annoyed anyone, really sorry.

Well, one thing is true-Zavvi Customers Service needs to improve a lot-ordered Life of Pi from Ama UK-had two paint Chips-called their Customer Service and got full refund because it was out of Stock-didn`t even had to return the Steel-that`s what i call Service:thumbs:

Hey Mate, you didn`t annoy anyone- but the most of us had their trouble with Zavvi-that`s all- Relax:thumbs::scat:

I've ordered a lot steelbooks from Zavvi and the hut. Only my Men in Black Trilogy was damaged. I sent it back for replacement and it works. Took a while but it works and I got my Money back for return shipping costs. It was 5,50€ but they gave me 5,50£ back ;)

I'm still waiting on a copy of Finding Nemo from Zavvi. They've refused to look into it or send another copy so far because it is to soon to be considered lost in the post. The date they say they'll be able to look into it is tomorrow. When I've contacted them previously it's taken anywhere from 1 to 3 days to get a reply. If there are no copies left to send a replacement by the time they get back to me... :(

I think every retailer-no matter who, will eventually get complaints if service/shipping/products are not up to par. As a customer I cringe every time I get a Steelbook in the mail, because I hope it's not damaged under or over the shrink wrap. Use your voices in a direct way and let any retailer know you are not happy. Over the years, we have had many conversations about Amazon (prior to their improved shipping), and it was awful for years. I wouldn't be afraid to let any retailer know any way you can (directly, too!), because at the end of the day, it's your dough....my 2 c

Blumark you're entitled to your opinion but people are going to have a hard time taking it seriously when you talk about Zavvi's "great pricing". This is clearly inaccurate.

If I started talking about Entertainment Store's excellent pricing points, I wouldn't expect to be taken seriously either.

Lets remember that this time two years ago, I (and I'd imagine many others like me outside the UK) never even heard of Zavvi. In that time, they've come in and taken over Play.com's position in the market (IMO) and have become one of the best Steelbook producers here to date.

They have taken onboard a certain amount of feedback and criticism (even improved on their Steelbook packaging at our request) in a short time and at least had the guile to have seen a niche in the market and gone for it.

I'm not here to praise Zavvi and say everything is perfect and that they're amazing. Far from it. But I guess what I'm saying is, at least they are trying. YES their customer service is terrible at this point. But I'm hoping in time they will catch up with the like of Amazon or Play. These thing take time and they have a long to way to go to iron out all their problems. I'm sure they've taken on an awful lot producing all these Steelbooks and their current staff are neither properly trained up to date to keep up with all the complaints and procedures or just couldn't be bothered dealing with something that they see (as not being collectors) as trivial.

Having said that, it's not good enough. Especially when I hear some of the horror stories from other members and the pressure must be kept on Zavvi at all times to prevent these horror stories happening time and time again.

For me it's pretty simple, Zavvi just need to use the same boxes/foam packing that Play did and I bet the number of damaged steelbooks drops by 75%+ if not more, that said they won't use 'cest super cool' black bubble wrap ;)

if they used the same boxes/foam packing as play I'm sure it would help with dents but to be fair these days the problems seem more to do with scratches paint chips and slashed spines which is really a QC problem and is always going to be a problem until it gets sorted out, most of the returns these days has not got much to do with the packaging but more to do with how these steels are getting produced imo.

Give it a rest mate, you made your point. What's with your vendetta against Zavvi recently?

I don't have a vendetta bud. I'm just growing tired of people taking Zavvi's word as gospel these days, swallowing it all up without questioning their sleazy selling tactics. Which are very obvious btw.

I'm also disappointed that while a lot of people are complaining about bad practice and high prices nobody seems willing to actually stand up and try and do something about it. I love this forum!! It's the best source of news/ exclusives/ general banter for steelbooks no doubt!

I don't mean to cause an uproar but lately I feel like Zavvi are pulling strings here and I don't like it.
