**Retailer charges cards when items ship

Per update received at HDN, starting with August 4,2014 releases, Zavvi will ship in boxes again.

Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

ok to all zavvi supporters and to them :

i made a complaint about withnail and i which i ordered 2 times and only arrived once.
the dispatch date was 30/05
i received an email saying...
''I am really sorry to hear that your order was not complete upon arrival.
A replacement copy of "Taxi Driver - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook (Includes UltraViolet Copy) [Blu-ray]" has been requested and you should receive a confirmation email as soon as the goods are dispatched.''

Same story, Mine was also dispatched on 30th May (Withnail and I). I have still not received it.

After 20 days, I contacted them, they told me to wait to 30th June. Now, I will need to contact them once again.

All SBs are taking minimum 20 days time to arrive. And they are not replying on how to track parcel. Even though they are charging for tracked delivery.

Sounds like they're doing that 'shipping via the U.S. to avoid tax' thingy. How else could it take so long?

I noticed that I used to receive my Zavvi orders within a week. Now anymore it's taking 2 weeks :(

The Zavvi maximum order is supposed to be 5, what if you also order additional copies from their Outlet on Play?

Can't see why you couldn't order more copies of the same item from their various sites.

Different accounts but same address might pose a problem though I suppose :dunno:

If Zavvi uses Royal Mail for posting to India then it can be sent only via ISF (International Signed-for) which offers only partial tracking (within the UK). Once the package reaches India, it is up to the carrier in India to scan it and provide inland tracking. For example, this is what happens if you ship a package via ISF to USA or Canada. Once the package is scanned in the destination country we got to use the destination country's postal website for tracking.

FYI: I have had few parcels from Amazon.com delivered after 2 months when I used to live in India.

Issue is they are not using Royal Mail or any other known courier for that matter. They are using some GPL courier for all my orders. Which has all tracking numbers in XXXXXX format. 6 digit format. :rofl:
I have never heard of them. And I cannot find any significant info about it online as well.

When I ask them about how to track, they send copy paste reply that your order was shipped on this date and you will receive on or before this date. Sorry for inconvenience caused.

So In good faith I wait. And Just received Withnail right now, just before posting this reply. And it has got the damp as well. It's not that big, but properly visible. I will need to contact them for this as well.

Out of 7 SBs shipped on 30th May / 1 week of June, I have received 5. 2 are still in transit. 4 arrived in perfect condition and 1 damaged. Hope to receive rest of the 2 as well as aladdin which recently got shipped, in perfect condition. Damage can happen while international delivery is there and packing is not that proper like Ninjas. That can be understandable.

But Main problem is, they are not replying on how to track the parcel. That's what is irritating me the most. It's not like I selected non-tracked method. For shipping to India, only one method is there "International tracked delivery" , when I checkout.

Zavvi Customer Service are idiots. I contacted them about an order I was having difficulties with my Credit Card. They responded to my Q, saying "We're sorry about your issues but we cannot re bill PayPal charges. We will cancel your order."

First Off, thankfully my order wasn't cancelled; secondly I payed with credit card, and thirdly, some poor soul's order likely just got cancelled.

Arg the incompetence. I tried to find any current telephone contact information, and only one I found gave me a message that said please visit our website for all questions and then disconnected. Heres hoping to a re-charge a couple days from now. Anyone know any genuine good contact info for them?

There are actually 2 RM options for shipping internationally; Signed for OR Tracked (without requiring a signature, but apparently allows tracking at every step)
both cost about the same to use for postage, and I'm not sure if the options are restricted for certain countries: I've never personally shipped to India so cant confirm, but the likes of Canada, US, Brazil DO offer either option
 
How does it work when you pre-order multiple steelbook with different release dates?

1)Do they hold steels until the last release date or ship on each release date?

2) Is shipping still £.99 or more?

3) Do they charge your total at once or just the price of the steel thats being released?

1. They ship for each release date

2. Shipping is only £.99 but you could do tracking for more.

3. They only charge as the release dates go

Also if you are using a credit card and are not in the UK they credit card is charged a foreign fee.

Got to say a thank you to Kieran from zavvi's twitter account. He helped me get a refund when the dreadful zavvi customer service was being nothing short of obtuse. Collect plus said the item had been returned but the zavvi warehouse had no record of it. The message centre turned into message tennis with no end in sight until Kieran came up trumps. That said, Kieran promised me a replacement for Finding Nemo but it didn't happen despite zavvi outlet mysteriously getting some stock.

I seriously wonder how long zavvi will survive.

same happened to me, zavvi warehouse said they had no record of my 4 damaged steelbooks I sent back in a package despite giving me a refund on 2 of them, they talk utter shite and are a disgrace
 
Thought I'd pop in just to say how happy I am with Zavvi right now. This is the right thread yes. What a retailer, just got Aladdin yesterday as well and it's freakin awesome. Arrived mint just like every steel I have ordered from them has done. Brilliant service to date and never had a single issue. If only all retailers could become more zavvified the world would be a better place. Amazon and play could learn a thing or 2 from these guys. Brilliant work Zavvi keep it up. By far my fav retailer ever. The best steelbooks at the best prices. Thank you.

I had odered Life of Pi from Ama Uk-it had some paint chips-contacted them and since it was sold out i got full refund within a Day-THAT`S WHAT I CALL SERVICE

Zavvi could learn more then two things from AMA

Here here, Amazon customer service is in another league to Zavvi, unless they sort out the packaging, they will never be close to Amazon. They are quite happy to increase pricing but they don't give you better packaging, its time they got their act sorted, there is no excuse!!!
