I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

The credit card i have used for some of my orders has been compromised, how do I go about using another card without cancelling my orders?

Thanks

Compromised how? Did it expire?

As suggested by a fellow Ninja, don't cancel any of your orders. When Zavvi begin to dispatch your said items they will attempt to charge your card, if it fails they should prompt you to re-enter your card details. That's where you give them your new details.

Basically someone stole my info and started using it:angry:. I'm just glad i wont have to cancel though cause i have a bunch of discount codes used. thanks for your help:thumbs:

So... is it safe to buy from Zavvi? I mean, they're not suspect to this "heartbleed" internet infection are they? Someone informed me I should stay away from using my credit card online until it's over. I would ask elsewhere but I'm running out of places to ask for assistance. Anyone know if it's safe to buy? Cheers.

I am not sure about that one, but any time someone I know, including myself has had an unwanted charge on their card, they were able to get it taken care of by filing a dispute with the credit card directly. I have placed many orders with many retailers for years, and only had 1 or 2 issues (neither of which came from Zavvi). But vigilance for your credit card or bank card statements, in general, is a good practice if you shop online. If you are not comfortable shopping online atm, I'd say that is each person's judgment call, especially if there is something creeping around...

Yep, this has happened to me after the whole holiday Target USA drama as well. Pain to get it replaced, but where there is a will, there is a way...so in the day of internet shopping (and some volnurabilities), this nonsense could put a temporary crimp in our autobilling set ups, etc...

I think the slash has to do with a machine that puts the wrapping over the steelbook, I mean would we not get a ton of amaray spine slashes if it was a heavy handed person at the warehouse?

Just got E.T. and Transformers Revenge of the Fallen steels from Zavvi in the mail yesterday and the Transformers one was slightly bent on the bottom. I pushed it back with my finger but it is still not mint. This is the first time I have had a problem with one of their steelbooks and I have ordered probably 6-7. Still trying to decide if I am going to contact them about it.

I ordered two. Both arrived having been slashed at the spine. I've somehow managed to avoid the dreaded spine slashing until now but I guess I was eventually going to get it. Can't decide if I can be bothered to return them or not. Not massively noticeable but up close they're there alright. Two fine hairline parallel cuts. Argh. Such a shame.

you should... you must... most definitely...

the only way that they´ll ever gonna reconsider their packaging is if money for replacements exceeds costs of better packaging..

I personally think whenever you receive a steelbook (or any other product for that matter) that's even slightly damaged, even if it's just a small dent, scratch or whatever, you should ALWAYS contact the retailer and demand a replacement order. If the retailer asks you to return the damaged item it's fine but a retailer absolutely must agree to replace the damaged item. When you order an item that's NEW and you pay the full price you can expect no less than a flawless item.

Dear Zavvi-I am writing this letter to you as a former fan-the following has happened and needs to be addressed-It's not just me & I am sure others feel the same way;

Pricing-Any else notice the huge disparity in Zavvi's steelbook pricing from October to January-I did. As it stands I pre booked somewhere in the region of £2.5 k's worth of steels over this period-most were to replace amaray copies of titles I own but most were as gifts for Christmas. What I didn't appreciate was the price cuts on 90% of the items I pre booked AFTER they had been delivered-the worst case was Zatoichi-£14.99 on release date-£12.99 a week later & £9.99 pre Christmas week-All in all this cost me somewhere in the region of £105 difference which I won't see again. Zavvi-I appreciate that not all your exclusive titles sell as well as others but if you are releasing a catalogue title that is not a new release for 4000 units & it doesn't sell as well as you like, any price drop is a massive smack in the mouth to your loyal patrons that pre book the majority of your titles-(Sixth sense is a prime example of this-you are practically giving it away)-you need to look at what quantities you are pressing these in as well-your stock holding must be massive...

guess someone from Zavvi read this...

Well you are covered by the trades description act 1974 so you have the right of address by requesting a replacement copy...... If they try any bullshit with me, I'll simply remind them of the trades description act and take legal action if required.
Brave person that tries to fob me off

It's the Law-regardless of what any UK retailer tells you that an item-purchased in good faith-is new unless otherwise described and fit for it's intended purpose...

Hmm...think of it this way: Zavvi warehouse workers had 12,000 steelbooks (the 3 Disney titles, amongst thousands more steelbooks and other deliveries) and they need to get X amount ready for delivery in a short amount of time, where as with regular amarays there isn't a mad rush.

V-when did you order TBWSP? When it first went on sale? Or when it went 'back' on sale during the limited stock sale recently. I ordered during the 'back on sale' period, and I received it yesterday. Good luck!
