I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Got a strange message from Zavvi telling me they were unable to collect the money for TMNT from PayPal. Quite odd, since every order before and after went thru without any problem. After an enquiery they told me they are not able to resolve the issue and I should cancel and re-order the item, which I did and the order was despatched the same day.

Today I received a mail that they feel terribly sorry the couldn't solve the problem and had to cancel my original order. As a sign of goodwill they've sent me a 10% discount code valid until end of June 2014. The mail was sent at 16:46 on June 30 2014! Is this supposed to be a joke?

Edit: Needless to say the code doesn't work with Ghostbusters II. Neither does the code I received for the faulty cancellation message of Alice in Wonderland. There isn't even a message to explain why it doesn't work. But since there's no error message either it seems at least to be valid.

Got Alice & Robin Hood steels today badly dented.

Sorry to hear that. How Zavvi expect that flimsy packaging to protect the mailing of a steelbook through two national postal systems and an airline is beyond me. It's barely adequate to cope with just the UK Post Office.

Again, if you want change, vote with your wallet. It's the only way.

I think I just won the lottery as Robin Hood arrived mint. Given all the feedback about the packaging I wasn't completely unaware...but seeing is believing.

Quite a step down from what we had before, at least in terms of the piece of mind a box gives you. :(

How do I use this mystery code. Every time I have ever tried, it says it's invalid or not applicable to contents of basket. Do these not work on steelbooks? Are the codes case sensitive?

I just copied and pasted the code into the box, but make sure you remove any blank space after the last character as I noticed it copied that in too.

the recent white boxes we had before was the bare minimum sir... zavvi had already downgraded from what they started with originally, which were the proper piece of mind play.com like boxes.

....but even those early zavvi boxes dont compare to some of the best boxes play.com issued sometimes to their best customers

got some of these today :)

I am trying to submit a request for a partial refund for damaged steelbooks but it won't allow me unless I upload a photo of the damage.
I don't have the means to take a photo and upload it.
Am I out of luck?

Got a 10% dicount with the dutch 5%-50% mystery code too. Seems to be standard or did anybody get more?

Looks like reward points are still available. They are still shown upon checkout and number is increasing. But maybe these are only old points for pre-orders?

Some folks got 15% off.

I also used my 54 points; Might as well use it up.

Perhaps a fellow Ninja could 'lend' you photographs that you could use.

What SteelBooks were involved?

Thanks for the suggestion but that would be too unethical for me.

I will instead contact my voodoo practitioner friend, whom I affectionately call Dr. Curse-ader, to see if within 24 hours we can begin sticking pins into some type of Zavvi doll.

Do none of your friends/co-workers have a camera phone? The photos they need don't have to be a piece of art. :)

While I don't have a mental disability like a lot of Zavvi customer service people seem to have, I do have a physical disability and don't get around much. Perhaps when some of my family come to visit me I will see if they can help me with taking a photo of the damaged steelbooks to upload to Zavvi-the Undisputed Kings of Incompetence.

Something that might work perhaps is logging into your account, going here, selecting "Something else", "Other non-order questions" then "I am having a problem using your website" (as though that gives you the option to upload files it shouldn't require you to) then just explaining the situation to them, I believe they should be able to transfer the ticket to the correct department after they get it.

Or, you could try emailing them at [email protected] and explaining the situation to them that way.

Here's hoping you manage to get it sorted out one way or another!
