Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Anyways , still haven't received my order from zavvi. It said on or before the 15th, but it has not arrived yet. :(
It has now surpassed 30 days, so you should contact Zavvi as soon as possible for a refund or replacement. It looks like your order got lost in the mail. It generally doesn't take nearly that long for Canada delivery. I pre-ordered the steelbook 'Under the Skin' and it shipped out on Wednesday the 9th and arrived on Thursday the 17th.

Thought I'd start collecting the Disney's from Zavvi, received Hercules unsealed, dented and scratched. Pinocchio was sealed, but with a huge dent atop. Both came in quite a sturdy box which doesn't appear to be damaged. I've emailed them expressing serious concerns and if this is a common practice I shall not be using them in the future. Have to draw the line somewhere. It's just a shame that they have such exclusivity with so many steels.

The unsealed ones I personally think are damaged returned items, that they are trying to get rid of on unsuspecting customers as there is no excuse whatsoever for sending out unsealed steels.

But only my opinion. :D

Got my Mulan today in another Cardboard envelope but it seems they've responded to our complains....by wrapping the steel in a layer of bubble wrap.

So...better I guess?
 
Is this Zavvi Reward Point glitch that has been briefly discussed on the price drop thread, happening for everyone? I have 532 Rewardz Points and if they are continuosly usable i best start getting my use out of them before zavvi fix it :naughty:

Yes, do so very quickly. The people who run this site will soon snitch on us, and orders will be cancelled. Whoever noticed was actually very generous sharing their find ;)
 
Am currently in the process of trying to get a replacement for Mulan, which arrived damaged. They've tried to palm me off with a 15% refund which is pretty insulting considering the amount of business I've given them over the past years! (As have many others!). Has anyone been successful on getting a full refund/replacement from Zavvi, despite only being offered a partial refund? Someone earlier mentioned they have to issue a replacement as it's the law?
 
Well i didnt think it was because i kept on getting payment error emails but i just kept on fixing it. But throughout today ive got dispatch emails for all of them so i think it has.
 
I've had a nightmare with zavvi this week, 5 damaged steelbooks in 10 days, first they ask for pics which i send, then offer me 15% back which i refuse, then a different guy replies to the email sent with the 5 pics offering me 10%, then they sent me 3 return address labels without stating which each was for. Then to top it off i couldn't reply to the message thread in zavvi cause they closed it, so i sent a very long email explaining the situation and reminding them that i've spent a 5 figure sum on their site in the last 3 years, 6 days later, no reply... soo disappointing.

Then after cleaning out my inbox i found this which made me laugh... From the steelbook monthly newsletter #1. Received in november 2013, no sign of #2 yet and this image was at the bottom, 150 left apparently yet it's in stock now 8 months later after various sales on disney steels, complete BS.

Sad thing is for the last 2 years i've fell for it time and time again, hook, line and sinker.

Sounds like a similar situation I just went through with them, have literally just posted the return to them. Amazing how little attention they pay to their feedback; assuming they even bother reading it. To make things worse I've heard a few people are now receiving other peoples returned items from Zavvi..
 
Well, 4 out of 5 isn't bad for my first try, right?


I would definitely be less hesitant to order from them in the future if they made that change. Looking forward to the new packaging. :thumbs:
