Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Nope, it's OOS now. I'd ask for a partial refund though. Or full refund, if you want to return it and get it elsewhere.

Ouch..sorry to see that , you can ask zavvi for a replacement, but if it shows as sold out, you'll get nowhere, looks like you'll have to return for refund.

I would ask a Full refund and try get it on the sale thread here. If i had extra copy i would have given to you at cost

Oh man! Sorry, @T800kaz I know the feeling believe me. I hope you can get a replacement but I fear it won't be easy. Mine hasn't even been sent yet.

@T800kaz i know it's not ideal but there are loads on ebay i've had to go that route as mine was also damaged not as bad as yours though.
Sending mine back for refund.

Just received my autobot reply from Zavvi in reference to why mine wasn't shipped yet.
Long story short, they are out but their suppliers are looking to get more stock.

Got one from eBay due to my one being busted so I'm happy about that, fair price too. Since this is my first time contacting zavvi CS how long do they usually take to refund you?

After Zavvi notify a buyer to say they have received back an item. How long does it normally take for a refund to reach the buyers account ? such a painful process !!!!

Wouldn't pay more than £35 tbh. After fees, postage, packaging and petrol getting to a post office a seller would only make around £7 profit if they paid zavvi £21.99

why zavvi cannot provide return info right away. I noticed them that i want to return item - got few days ago email that we provide info in new email ... how long does that take ?????

I just noticed on the lucky dip zbox it mentioned tshirts and now casually doesn't, it says comics, magnets and notebooks and even zbox exclusives. Hmm was wondering but by the sounds of it will just be the absolute junk that was in the boxes.

Not one to normally complain, I know stuff happens...I've been ordering from Zavvi for YEARS now, hundreds of steelbooks and within that time I maybe had 1 or 2 steelbooks with minor issues...

This month however...I'd thought I'd share my horror story with you all... I'm not sure if its just a string of bad luck, or how these shipments are being treated at Zavvi, from transit out of the UK to US, or if my postman just hates me because I have tons of steelbooks coming in every week BUT regardless...my last 3 copies from Zavvi throughout the course of this month arrived like this:


LARGE bends in: We Were Soldiers, Commando (Director's Cut), The Crow, and newly received Batman Original Movie.

AND...Let's not mention my mysterious random shipment of the Marvel animated steelbooks which (didn't) arrive together in a beat up box yellow stickered "received without contents"...all 6 apparently lost in transit and missing (Yes, I received an empty box with 6 air-packing balloons). Never seen Zavvi package steelbook together like that PERIOD...They always arrive individually...unreal...

So that's 10 steelbooks in a row folks...a new record...while Zavvi has been nice about reimbursing me with either refunds or credits, they seriously need to take a look at better packaging options. Or maybe it's just really rotten luck on my end...

Regardless, thought I'd share after I pinched myself a few times to make sure this all wasn't a nightmare...lol

I think zavvi gets alot of s**t, but tbh if we didnt have them as the home of steelbooks in the UK we would barely get any decent steel releases. We definatley would not have the Disney collection.

They make mistakes like many other retailers, but im just happy they realise steelbooks are worth selling because there is a big fan base for them.

I know steels and box sets get damaged in the post, but tbh most of that is the couriers doing, careless handling, the white cardboard mailers are fine if handled with respect but it seems the jolly postman like to use them as footballs sometimes.
